🌏 ERT has responded to public and community requests by starting a fundraising campaign to support refugees. 🎈ERT have set up a society bank account with NO FEES where people can donate. 🎈The funds will be used for food and shopping vouchers, 🎈as well as potentially assisting with rental payments for the refugees. 🚨It is important to note that donations to ERT Fundraising are NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE and DO NOT provide receipts. 🎈ERT is a non-profit organization in Victoria under Consumer Affairs law and on ASIC We are not a charity organization, and we receive 100% of the funds towards supporting the refugees without any commissions. 🎈ERT offers the option to donate money in which we will then convert into a voucher that will be given to refugee families. Alternatively, you can purchase Coles vouchers online, email them to the ERT, and we will print them out and give them to the refugee families. Some Charity organizations in Egypt are experiencing significant reductions in the donations they regularly receive. This is because many donors decided to channel their donations towards Gaza. I have a sincere advice: Local needy people worthy of help remain in dire need for help, even if their situation is better than the situation in Gaza. If I am to chose one theme that describes the people of Gaza, I will choose Sacrifice and Patience. What about we apply this theme on ourselves: Make a sacrifice: cut down from your wants and needs, donate to Gaza while keeping your regular donations to local causes. If you can still give up something, many of the needy people have nothing further to give up.

Islamic finance experts advise people to choose Sharia-compliant institutions for Zakat and charity. Some organizations collect donations but invest them in interest-based ways, against Islamic rules. Donors should research recipients, especially hospitals and NGOs. They should ask about fund collection, usage, and investments before giving. Organizations should make their financial records public and get Sharia audits. People donate during Ramadan, but they should avoid institutions using interest-based investments. Zakat should go to deserving individuals first, then to organizations. 🚀 LAUNCHED TODAY – Donation nation: The geography of charitable giving in the UK Out today, our latest research looks at the relationship between local economies and people’s willingness to donate to charity in cities and large towns, discovering stark differences in generosity across the UK. 💸Charitable donors in the North East give the highest proportion of their income to charitable causes of any region in the UK, with the average person in Middlesbrough donating 1.2 per cent of their salary to charity compared to 0.6 per cent in London’s Chelsea & Fulham. 👛But income is the most important factor determining the values donated to charity - while poorer places give a higher share of earnings, the amounts they give are smaller in absolute terms because earnings are lower than in the most affluent places. Donors in more deprived parts of the UK tend not to give to charities tackling local causes, further constraining charities targeting local needs in poorer places. This means that there is work to be done to bridge the gap between charitable donations, the causes people donate to, and where there is greatest need. A Real-Time Leaderboard - Where businesses can compete with one another to rank #1 in their respective category. There are 5 main ways businesses can gain points (these are laid out below). 2. Charity Component - Where a business can set a pledge and set an amount each upvote is worth and the business gives that in Sadaqah during this blessed month. Say a business pledges to donate £1,500 and they set each upvote to £1.50. If a business now gets 150 upvotes, the business will donate £225. Who's excited for the Ramadan Race? Because we sure are!
