Pakistan has failed in exporting poultry meat Lack of centralized certification Trading companies engaged in poultry exports face issues with third-party certification, branding, and supplies. Low production of branded processed poultry meat. The output of branded processed poultry meat in Pakistan is too low to meet local demand, and the processing companies' main focus is on expanding footprints in the local market. High production costs Persistent power breakdowns continue to keep the production costs high. Lack of investment,Local investors are not ready to invest in setting up egg powder or spray-drying units. Absence of a policy package There is a need to recognize the potential of poultry exports and formulate a policy package to realize it.

POULTRY IS FLYING 🐔 The International Production and Processing Expo kicks off in Atlanta today, where companies from the poultry, eggs and meat space across the US will come together for 3 days. The poultry industry has deep roots in the US and, despite its age, shows no sign of slowing down. According to the USDA, the poultry sector accounted for almost $77B in sales in 2022, a 67% increase compared with 2021; egg sales in particular grew by 122%. Elsewhere, broilers generated $50B in exports in 2022, almost doubling compared with 2016. So, what is behind this trend? 🤔 Simply put, poultry is the most widely consumed meat worldwide. Poultry consumption has also increased in the US compared with red meat. Why? It is cheaper, healthier and less harmful to the environment. The US also has plentiful domestic feed resources, positioning it ahead of global competitors, so it is unsurprising that the US produces over 6,000 metric tons more chicken meat than any other country. With technological advances increasing efficiency of poultry production and reducing outbreaks of disease, there is no reason why the growth should not continue. Georgia alone accounts for over $7.6B in poultry and egg sales, so Atlanta is certainly a fitting location for the IPPE this year. I hope everyone in my network who is attending enjoys their visit to the Peach State, though perhaps we should consider renaming it the Poultry State! #ippe #poultryindustry #eggproduction
