#DoYouKnow - Most of our lighthouses and ALL of our buoys are powered by renewable energy sources. Operating in a harsh maritime environment, Irish Lights is particularly cognisant of the need for #ClimateAction, Mitigation and Adaptation measures. A programme of sustainable capital projects including consolidating our coastal infrastructure to provide a low-maintenance, low-energy, Aids to Navigation has been underway in Irish Lights for many years. With technological advancement, the power requirement for major lighthouses has been significantly reduced, while ensuring light intensity is maintained. https://loom.ly/CalbprI
