Ivana Miseva, part of the rescue team at Pawpers in the Ruff in Macedonia, recently shared a video that gives us a glimpse into their world. It's a world where they conduct many of their rescues - the notorious dump. As you watch the video, try to imagine the heart-wrenching scenes they encounter daily: dozens of dogs, some starving, others in dire conditions, and many who've never known the touch of a caring hand. The Pawpers in the Ruff team face difficult decisions daily, all while striving to care for as many dogs as possible with limited resources. Their passion for these animals fuels their determination to save lives, even while juggling permanent jobs and family responsibilities. With over 150 dogs in their care, rescued from dire conditions, their dedication knows no bounds. Their selfless dedication often comes with significant challenges and sacrifices. We must ensure that incredible women like Ivana receive the acknowledgment, respect, and resources they need to continue their life-saving work. Their dedication often comes with significant challenges and sacrifices, and it's our responsibility to support them. We invite you to spare just two minutes of your time to listen to Ivana's powerful message in the video she shared. If you can donate: https://shor.by/PqEg Every penny raised will go directly to Pawpers in the Ruff to support their rescue efforts. #PowerOfOne #AdoptDontShop #AnimalRescue #AnimalWelfare #StreetDogs #Dogrescue #PawpersInTheRuff #RescueHeroes #SupportDogRescue #DonateToday #AnimalRights #MentalHealthMatters

Statistics shape our world 🌍📊 Over 600 million stray dogs and cats roam the streets worldwide, facing challenges such as hunger, disease, and neglect. Understanding this number emphasizes the importance of spay and neuter programs to control overpopulation and reduce suffering. According to the World Animal Protection, over 70% of dogs in shelters are never adopted, often due to misconceptions about rescue animals. Raising awareness can change perceptions and help these deserving pets find their forever homes. In the UK, about 2.7 million pets enter shelters annually, with nearly 1 million of them being euthanized due to overcrowding. This underscores the importance of fostering a culture of adoption. “Data is not just numbers; it’s a call to action.” 🐾❤️ #powerofone #AnimalWelfare #AdoptDontShop

At Power of One, we are proud to support amazing organisations Tolfa Animal Hospital (TOLFA) in Rajasthan, India. TOLFA doesn’t just rescue dogs—they provide holistic care to a wide range of animals in need, from sick and injured street animals to farm animals in life-threatening situations. Recently, TOLFA’s dedicated team rescued a cow that had fallen into a septic tank, bringing her to safety with the help of a crane and their incredible efforts. This is just one example of the life-saving work they do every single day for animals of all kinds. We are currently raising funds for TOLFA to sponsor nurturing staff members who care for the most vulnerable animals: the sick, injured, and even temporarily paralyzed dogs. With your generous support, we’ve raised £2000 towards our £5000 target. Every penny goes directly to TOLFA. Please consider donating and helping us reach our goal! Together, we can continue to save lives. 🐾❤️ Donate here: https://shor.by/7gC2 #powerofone #TOLFA #TreeOfLifeForAnimals #India #streetanimals #animalwelfare #animalrescue #sustainability #donations

Doris Day wasn’t just a Hollywood icon—she was a fierce advocate for animals, dedicating much of her life to rescuing, protecting, and giving a voice to those who couldn't speak for themselves. 🐾 In 1978, Doris founded the Doris Day Animal Foundation, a non profit that supports rescue groups, funds spay/neuter programs, and promotes senior pet adoption. She was deeply committed to improving the lives of shelter animals, always believing that every animal deserves love, care, and a second chance. Her compassion didn’t stop at advocacy—Doris herself rescued countless animals, welcoming them into her home and urging others to adopt rather than shop. She was a pioneer of the "adopt, don’t shop" movement, long before it became mainstream. 💕 Doris's dedication to animal welfare changed the lives of thousands of animals and continues to inspire future generations. She taught us that compassion is a way of life, and that by helping animals, we make the world a kinder place for all. 🌍 Let’s honour Doris’s legacy by advocating for those who need us most—shelter animals waiting for their forever homes. 🏡🐶 #Powerofone #AnimalWelfare #EnrichmentPrograms #AnimalRescue #AdoptDontShop #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealth #AnimalRescue #DorisDay #AnimalAdvocate #DorisDayAnimalFoundation

Jai Dog Rescue provides a sanctuary for street dogs in the lush fields of a working farm on the outskirts of Nakhon Nayok. Established in 2017, their mission is to transform the lives of these dogs through crucial sterilization, vaccination, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts. Every day, Neang, a 70-year-old dedicated caretaker at @Jai Dog Rescue, rises early to prepare food for the dogs. Despite her limited resources and the challenges of the monsoon season, she perseveres with a heart full of love. Neang cooks over an open charcoal fire, but during rainy days, keeping the fire going is a struggle, often leaving the dogs without food. Her meagre pension and reliance on rice mixed with leftovers are not enough to provide the nutrition these dogs need. We need your help to make Neang’s work a bit easier and ensure the dogs receive the nourishment they deserve: ➡️ Regular supply of nutritious dog food ➡️ A large new pot with a lid to prevent cheeky dogs from getting into the food ➡️ Ongoing flea, tick, and worming treatments So far, we’ve raised £2200 toward our £5000 goal, which has already funded a new bike and sidecar. Let’s push towards our target and provide Neang and the dogs with the support they desperately need. Every contribution helps! Please consider continuing to support the campaign and help us reach our target for Neang. 💖 https://shor.by/Yvjv #Powerofone #UnsungHeroes #JaiDogRescue #AnimalRescue #MakingADifference #DonateNow #Neang #AdoptDontShop #Donate #StreetDogs #AnimalWelfare

We’re pleased to share that we’ve donated £1,000 to HAART (Helping Animals and Rural Transformation). This contribution supports essential resources for the growing number of animals they rescue and rehabilitate. Under the leadership of Sam Keegan, HAART provides free essential and emergency veterinary care for over 900 dogs in rural African villages. These dogs receive critical care at the K9 Centre and, once recovered, are either returned to their owners or re-homed after being spayed or neutered. HAART’s impact goes beyond veterinary care. They engage local schools with education in Animal Care & Conservation, fostering a culture of love, respect, and appreciation for animals. Thank you, HAART, for your inspiring efforts in improving the lives of rural African village dogs. #powerofone #HAART #Love4AllAnimals #AnimalWelfare #Education #spayandneuter #Africa

We want to share a recent rescue story from Animal Friends of Turkey AFOT - Dogs for Adoption that highlights both the challenges and the incredible impact of their work. Ollie was subjected to severe abuse and mistreatment by locals. When Animal Friends of Turkey intervened, Ollie was terrified and deeply mistrustful of everyone. However, in just a few short weeks, something amazing happened—Ollie began to form a bond with Brenda, one of their dedicated rescuers. Brenda has a special gift with dogs, and her calm, nurturing presence has helped Ollie start to trust again. Turkey is a country with many remarkable qualities, and some fortunate animals do find loving homes with families across the nation. Unfortunately, a troubling attitude among certain individuals continues to cause significant suffering for many dogs. These animals endure severe cruelty and abuse, with some being born on the streets and others abandoned to fend for themselves. They rely heavily on local charities, compassionate individuals, and even restaurants to survive each day. We are proud to support Animal Friends of Turkey and their ongoing efforts to make a difference. To learn more about their incredible work and how you can help, please click here: ➡️ https://shor.by/d62v Your support makes a world of difference for animals like Ollie. In celebration of Mandela Day on July 18th, HAART - Helping All Animals in Rural Towns honoured the legacy of Nelson Mandela, who dedicated 67 years to the fight for human rights, by launching a campaign: “Winter Bucket Beds” for village dogs. ➡️ Why Winter Bucket Beds? During the harsh South African winter, village dogs often struggle to find warmth, resorting to corners of yards or rubbish piles to escape the cold. With night-time temperatures dropping to around 0 degrees, these dogs face a tough battle to survive. ➡️ The Campaign HAART initiated a small but impactful campaign aiming to provide essential comfort to vulnerable dogs. For the cost of a glass of wine or a beer, donors could contribute to the creation of special bucket beds. Each bed was personalised with the donor's name, adding a touch of warmth and care. For an additional R50 (£2 or $3), donors could also add a blanket, offering even more protection against the cold. ➡️ The Achievement HAART reached their goal of 67 Bucket Beds! This means 67 village dogs now have a warm place to sleep, thanks to the generosity of supporters. These bucket beds are life-changing, providing the much-needed warmth and comfort that can make a world of difference. Thank you for your support and for helping us honour Mandela’s legacy by making a tangible difference in the lives of South Africa’s village dogs. ➡️ Beyond the Basics Rescue shelters need so many resources beyond the most crucial parts, such as food and veterinary care. Initiatives like this one show that even small, creative fundraising efforts can have a significant impact. We hope this campaign provides inspiration for other shelters searching for ways to raise funds and support their vital work. To find out more about HAART, please follow Power of One. Together, we can all make a difference. #powerofone #Haart #fundraising #AdoptDontShop #AnimalWelfare

We want to share a recent rescue story from Animal Friends of Turkey AFOT - Dogs for Adoption (AFOT) that highlights both the challenges and the incredible impact of their work. One of the significant challenges they face is Parvo, a highly contagious viral illness that affects stray dogs, especially puppies. Parvo causes severe gastrointestinal distress and can be fatal if not treated promptly. Stray dogs are particularly vulnerable due to their lack of access to proper veterinary care and vaccinations. Their mission is to find these animals forever homes in the UK, relying solely on donations and the dedication of their volunteer team. Your donations play a crucial role in helping AFOT address these challenges. They provide essential medical treatment, including vaccinations and treatments for illnesses like Parvo, as well as support for their ongoing rescue and rehoming efforts. To learn more about their incredible work and how you can help, please click here: ➡️ https://shor.by/d62v Your support makes a world of difference for animals in need.
