🟢 Are you Quality Directionless?? Today Richard talks about how to access a Quality Director without the hefty cost. Quality management is essential for enhancing an organisation's brand and reputation, protecting against risks, increasing efficiency, boosting profits, and reducing waste. However, in a volatile company, Quality Assurance principles may take a back seat as the management team deals with one problem after another. This leaves little time for continuous quality improvement activities that are crucial for every business. A Quality Director can help in such situations by holding the executive directors and the board accountable and managing the company's Quality Strategy and Performance. By identifying barriers to performance and implementing strategies to overcome them, a Quality Director can help a company achieve a more consistent product or service, increased efficiency, higher profitability, and reduced waste. This ultimately leads to outperforming the competition, achieving greater customer satisfaction, and protecting the brand from defects and recalls. Investing in quality management is not just about cost but also about increasing staff motivation and morale, taking the company to a new level of success. Hiring an experienced, non-executive Quality Director on a pro-rata basis can provide the necessary expertise, without the hefty price tag of a full-time hire! By focusing solely on Quality Systems and performance, a non-executive Quality Director can bring valuable insights and drive positive changes in the company. Neglecting quality strategy can result in repeated errors and missed opportunities for improvement, ultimately leaving money on the table. It is essential to invest in quality management to ensure long-term success and growth for the business #QualityAssurance #QualityManagementSystems #Strategy #ISO9001 #processimprovement #leadership #business #QA #personaldevelopment #teamdevelopment #successcoaching #continuousimprovement #QualityDirector

☑ Servant Leader ☑ “People Gardener” ☑ Mentor & Leadership Coach for current and aspiring women in leadership
Service: between a rock and a hard place I believe that a customer service supervisor has the hardest job of all team members. They get grief, demands on their time and energy from multiple sources. It’s a rock, a hard place and a very deep body of water. Their staff need them. ✅ those that are great and need the feedback and compliments ✅ those that are so-so, and need feedback and coaching to become great ✅ the thorns, those that ask the same questions everyday, make the same errors, create more escalations Leading to the needs of the customer ✅ those who are routed to them as an escalation due to something the rep did ✅ those that insist only a title can help with their issue ✅ those that demand impossible things And the last group, the leaders, manager, director, whatever the title ✅ those worried about the service metrics ✅ those asking a supervisor to investigate a complaint ✅ those handing out projects with impossibly short due dates It’s a really hard job. Of the three groups, I believe senior leadership can make the most difference in retaining and developing great supervisors. 💎 stepping into help when the perfect storm of scheduled and unscheduled absences creates a gap 💎 looking for what can be placed on pause while the supervisor works on a project 💎 providing direction on priorities and not saying all Customer service is a deeply rewarding role. Knowing someone has your back, wanting the best them, equips supervisors to give their best to team members. Who in turn are more likely to give their best to customers. How do you help a supervisor? #ServiceEvangelist #customerservice

🔔 #Quality Management roles are critical in ensuring that products and services meet the highest #standards. However, many professionals in these positions feel the strain, with 3 out of 5 considering leaving their roles. The reasons for this dissatisfaction are not about the job itself but rather the challenges and barriers that come with it. 😥 Key pain points include unclear quality standards, bureaucratic hurdles, and a lack of support from management. These issues create an environment where Quality Management professionals struggle to perform their duties effectively, leading to frustration. Over-emphasis on documentation, inconsistent feedback, and a poor culture of quality further exacerbate the situation, making it difficult for teams to achieve their #goals. Moreover, the high workload, unrealistic deadlines, and stressful audit processes place immense pressure on these professionals. Without adequate #training, development opportunities, and recognition, Quality Management teams feel undervalued and overworked. The dilemma between maintaining quality and meeting speed expectations creates conflict, particularly in fast-paced industries. 😭 What’s more concerning is the lack of #career advancement opportunities, which stifle growth and drive talent away. For organizations to retain their Quality Management professionals, they need to address these issues head-on.

Two Ways to Become a Successful Quality Professional These are easy to say But challenging to do We should: -exhaust every avenue looking for the "yes" -deliver "no" with momentum In simple terms It is your role to protect the business from itself This means you should: -spend your time looking for why something CAN be done. Not why it SHOULD, but why it CAN -if you CAN'T find a reason why something CAN be done within the confines of regulatory requirements, product safety best practices, or truthful advertising requirements, your answer will likely be no. If it is... -tell the person no. But not just "no". Tell them why, cite your sources if needed, and then suggest or begin discussing an alternative path forward if appropriate Saying no just to say no may help you feel like a quality warrior who is saving the world But you're missing opportunities and your supervisor (and theirs) will begin to view you as a "no" person No one likes a no person No people don't get promotions They don't get raises And they certainly don't get respect Always look for the yes You don't have to agree with the idea but you have to do your due diligence and advise the business on next steps, as appropriate Being able to demonstrate that you've done your DD before providing feedback will separate you from your peers and help you gain respect from the leadership team If you want to improve yourself within this profession Start here #quality #qualitymanagement #compliance #manufacturing #cpgindustry #beautyindustry #dietarysupplements #foodandbeverage #consulting #qualitas

Many Quality Managers are simply thrust into the role Without the proper training, experience, or support That's a problem The path to becoming a Quality Manager may look something like.. -works 1-3 years in Production -eventually moves into Quality as an Inspector -spends maybe 6-12 months as an Inspector -is a pretty good Inspector, becomes a Team Lead -learns a bit more about Quality during their year as a TL -is ready for their next challenge -receives internal promotion/jumps ship to become a Quality Supervisor -is a Quality Supervisor for a couple years, sits in on a few audits -begins feeling confident in their Quality expertise -starts looking for a Quality Manager role -lands a Quality Manager role -50/50 chance of success This certainly isn't the case for ALL Quality Managers, but it's the case for a LOT of the QM's I meet every year And this evolution can happen over just a few years Many of the hardest working, head-down-get-it-done folks I know are Quality Managers And they're darn good at what they do On the other hand.. We're left with countless Quality Managers who THINK they know what they're doing, but actually have no clue This isn't their fault It's ours In manufacturing, we're known to promote people with strong work ethic And assume they'll figure out "the other stuff" along the way The trouble is, if you don't know what "the other stuff" they need to figure out is.. How will they know? We need to do a better job in providing the right resources so our Quality Managers (and Quality team!) can be successful After all, these are the people who share legal responsibility in ensuring the products you make are safe Let's make sure they can do their job and do it well #quality #manufacturing #compliance #leadership #qualitas #training
