Dt : 9.10.2024. ****** - BioE3 Policy will fulfill India's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) . Can prove that effective science policies will lead to national development and sustainability . - it is similar to Hathi Committee report based Drug policies initiated by Indian Govt in 1970s which made India as Pharmacy of the world ! - BioE3 is (Biotechnology for Economy, Employment, and Environment) Policy . - Facilitate shift from chemical-based industries to sustainable bio-based models . - job creation in sectors like bio-based chemicals, smart proteins, precision bio therapeutics, climate-resilient agriculture, and carbon capture. - will establish cutting-edge bio manufacturing facilities, bio foundry clusters, and Bio-AI hubs. - will play a vital role in large-scale manufacturing of products like mRNA-based vaccines and proteins. - cBio-AI hubs will drive innovation by integrating AI to analyse large-scale biological data . - employment opportunities in tier-II and tier-III cities through bio manufacturing hubs to be set up.

Today's KNOWLEDGE Share Indian scientists have made a breakthrough in wound care and sustainability by turning discarded banana plant stems into eco-friendly wound dressings. The banana stems, usually considered waste, are abundant in India, the world's largest banana producer. The IASST team, led by Prof. Devasish Chowdhury and Prof. (Retd) Rajlakshmi Devi, combined banana fibres with natural biopolymers to create a strong, antioxidant-rich dressing.They also added extracts from the Vitex negundo plant to fight bacteria and promote drug delivery. The best part? This innovation is beneficial for both patients and the planet. It promotes healing, reduces waste, and provides a new use for banana plants.
