Spider silk has been our inspiration – today we are at the forefront of advanced biomaterials using our silk proteins for a variety of useful applications. We are proud and honoured to be a selected company within the World Economic Forum's Global Innovator Community to inspire whole industries.

Some of our female employees, including Ursula Fabian (HR) and Gudrun Vogtentanz (Chief Scientific Officer), recently visited the "Women in Science" exhibition at the Helmholtz Munich. This exhibition celebrates the incredible contributions of women in various scientific fields, highlighting their innovative work and dedication to advancing science. "Women play a crucial role in science, driving innovation and progress. At AMSilk, over 40% of our key positions in R&D are held by women. As an employer, we are proud to create an environment in which women can fully develop their skills and talents and make significant contributions to the advancement of our technologies", says Ursula Fabian. And Gudrun Vogtentanz adds: "Our team was inspired by the stories and achievements of these pioneering women, who have made significant impacts in their respective fields. We are proud to be presenting at the innovation area PERFORMANCE DAYS in March! Happy to meet you there!

Our biofabricated yarns made from spider silk proteins are on display as part of the exhibition “Future Lab: Shaping Nature”. The exhibition deals with questions such as: What strategies have animals developed to shape their environment according to their needs? What materials do they use for their constructions? How do their construction activities affect their habitat - and what can we humans learn from this for our construction and production processes? The exhibition will run until January 11, 2026 at the BIOTOPIA Lab | Naturkundemuseum Bayern, nestled between the Nymphenburg Palace Park and the Botanical Gardens. Photo credit: Fabian Frinzel
