Don't create barriers for yourself. You are no one to decide whether your score/effort is enough to pull you up to your desired goal/destination. My student with an average profile and a 680 on the GMAT proved this recently. She approached me with a target score of 740, and she wanted to apply to ISB. I requested her to apply with a 680 while we continued with our GMAT preparation. Despite the average GMAT score for ISB intake being above 700, she applied anyway. And guess what? She got accepted! Moral of the story? Do your karma and, most importantly, DO APPLY. #GMAT #ISB #job

The critical importance of booking your exam date. Many GMAT aspirants fall into the trap of continuously delaying their exam date, thinking they’ll only book it once they feel “fully prepared” or when their mock test scores align with their target. But as Aayush experienced, this strategy is flawed and often leads to stagnation and frustration. Initially, Aayush extended his timeline with our permission at Top One Percent, thinking more time would guarantee success. However, he soon realized that without a fixed deadline, his preparation lacked urgency and direction. The turning point came when Aayush finally booked his exam date and applied a reverse engineering strategy to plan his studies. I attended a one-day capacity-building training workshop on "Evaluation and assessment" hosted by CPDC University of Chakwal. It was an amazing learning opportunity from a HEC NAHE expert and trainer Dr, Zeeshan Zaib Khattak, where he briefly discussed that how evaluating and assessing students through rubrics is a systematic and transparent method that enhances both teaching and learning processes. Rubrics provide clear criteria for evaluation. By outlining specific expectations for each performance level, rubrics offer students a detailed understanding of what is required to achieve each grade, thereby promoting self-assessment and goal setting. "Solving these questions is just beyond my capability." A GMAT aspirant shared candidly on a call yesterday that he would have the above thought when his teacher gave him hard problems after teaching the concepts. Some students in his class could solve the questions while he wasn't. It seemed clear to him that the problem lay with him. He just didn't have the capability. "So, does it make sense for me to pursue GMAT?" he asked me. Here's what I said: The underlying assumption in your question is that your 'capability' is inherent and fixed and that it cannot be built. Even if you don't have the capability now, what makes you believe that you'll not have it 6-months or one year from now? The reason this self-doubt arises in people is that almost the entire test prep industry is about teaching knowledge or, at most, the concepts. Hardly anyone is focused on building skills. Thus, people who 'currently' do not have the skills end up wondering whether they can 'ever' ace the GMAT. Well, you can. You just need to build what you 'currently' do not have. It's just a matter of time before you'll have what others have right now.

But here's the thing about your prep journey👉 There are no shortcuts for GMAT / GRE Acing GMAT/GRE is a journey, and it has three legs. ✅ Leg 1: Conceptual Learning Rote learning and last-minute cramming never help in the GMAT. You must start from the concept itself. ✅ Leg 2: Skill building After you understand concepts, you must have the aptitude and skill to know where to apply which concept. ✅ Leg 3: Mental toughness GMAT is an adaptive psychometric test. Its difficulty level adapts to how many questions you answer correctly or incorrectly! There are hundreds and thousands of candidates who take the GMAT every year.
