For our km/miles monthly challenge, we achieved a new high in May, surpassing the previous record set in March. March saw us run 80.1 miles with an average pace of 16'02'', while in May, we reached 81.6 miles at an average pace of 17'24''. Despite a dip in April to 62.1 miles, we bounced back even stronger. Key patterns: Consistency: Steady in the number of runs from 35 in March to 36 in May. Pacing: While the average pace slowed slightly, it allowed for greater mileage and sustainability over the month. Resilience: We overcame the April dip and returned with improved performance; examples of adaptability and perseverance. And… In honour of Mental Health and Awareness Month, I will donate $2 for every mile I ran in May, totalling $163. We’re still deciding on an organization that truly embodies The GM's Perspective, but our main focus is to continue the mental health conversation, keep others top of mind, be selfless, and understand that it’s okay to be vulnerable. Here at The GM’s Perspective, we hope to make a positive impact and encourage others to speak up and seek help when needed. #MentalHealthAwareness #TheGMsPerspective #Dedication #KeepGoing #running #runningman #miles #Kilometers #Motivation #Inspiration #MentalHealth #Anxiety #Depression #Vulnerable

Black & White Bridging promotes Mental Health Awareness all year round, not just for one week. As this year's edition is about promoting movement, we'd like to share how we are helping to support movement and physical activity for our team at HQ. 💪 In the last few weeks, we have turned an empty space on the premises into a gym! There's a cross trainer, running machine, bike, rowing machine, and weights. The room isn't quite finished, but the team has been using it every day and can book time in their diaries throughout the day to exercise with no restrictions. 🏃🏻♀️ There are also plenty of fields surrounding the office for team members to walk in, company bicycles to use, and we also provide healthily cooked food (cooked by a different team member) every week - we understand and promote the importance of physical activity, movement, and a healthy diet. 🥑 Let's continue to support mental and physical health, not just for this week but all year round! 🙌 #mentalhealthawareness #momentsformovement #bridgingfinance

I can't stress how much the gym is helping my mental health. Some of my new disciplines include watching the cross trainer, avoiding the weights, imaginary skipping, and press downs - that's how I keep my athlete's physique! Seriously though, regular workouts have made a huge difference to both my physical and mental health in the last few months, something which I will continue indefinitely. 💪🏼 I get additional exercise chasing business, covering the country to meet with brokers, and harassing underwriters for completions. So, if you'd like to help keep my mental health intact, get in touch to discuss your next case: danny@blackandwhitebridging.co.uk 07565 151404 #bridgingfinance #brokers #healthyrelationships

It’s #NationalMentalHealthWeek! Here at the County, we’re all about having fun while learning how to take care of our minds and bodies. We’ve got a ton of exciting activities going on this week, from a yoga class hosted by a third-party expert to leaving kind messages on our colleagues’ desks. Because who says #MentalHealthAwareness can’t be fun? We don’t just want to keep the fun to ourselves. We want to spread the word and encourage other employers to take action and prioritize their employees’ mental health. After all, it’s not just about talking the talk - it’s about walking the walk 🚶♀️. Here are just a few ways that we’ve helped our employees take care of their mental health ⬇ 👉 An in-house fitness studio & walking trails, complete with a water fountain and locker rooms, so our team can stay active and feel good about themselves. 👉 Our lunchroom is designed to be cozy and inviting, with all the amenities of a living room and a kitchen. Because who doesn’t feel better after a belly full of food and some friendly conversation? Oh, and weekly BBQ’s in the summertime! 👉 A #SocialCommittee that’s always coming up with fun activities, from cookie day to virtual bingo - they’re THE best. We’re all about creating a sense of a warm community and helping our team members build connections. 👉 And of course, we provide all sorts of support to our staff, from #PaidSickLeave to #PPD - because at the County, we believe that taking care of our employees is the first step to “taking care of business” 🎵. So, now we want to hear from you... what are you doing to prioritize your employee’s mental health? Let us know in the comments! ___________________________________ #RockyViewCounty #RockyView #AlbertaCanada

Chuffed to have been invited to the South Trafford Collective meeting today to talk about MileShy. It was great to share the work we’re doing on mental health. Truth is, I wish we could do more. Yes, we have a face to face support group now alongside all the run and walk clubs that have been improving not only physical but mental health too but WHY OH WHY CAN’T WE DO MORE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT GROUPS! Of course I didn’t quite word it like that. Imagine a gym where you visited not only for your physical health, but your mental health too? Improve your core strength alongside your mental willpower. Get reinvigorated in the pool and finish off with guided meditation. Hammer out a run on the treadmill, beat the life out of a boxing bag, followed by a relaxing Swedish massage? Grab a coffee, find a seat on the sofa and get a “group therapy blast” for 30 minutes… Physical health, and all forms of improving it, gives numerous different coping strategies to help with poor mental health. So let’s link the two? I can foresee the future going that way, and in many aspects, lots of people who were at that table today are doing elements of that work already – Carly from Trafford Leisure, Andy and Hannah from Blu Sci mental health, Bev from Trafford Council, Dan Shelston (who just knows everyone and everything and is an all-round force for good!) It all comes down to money. I don’t mean to sound depressing, sorry. But even though there are a zillion stats out there at the moment showing how much saving is made per head on the NHS when someone gets more active in older age – the link between that and the funding pots available for preventative care just aren’t aligned. You can’t charge for a mental health support group. But you can charge for a gym membership. Food for thought. @mileshyclub #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthtalk #mentalhealth #mhaw #socialentrepreneur #mentalhealthawarenessweek #1in4 #anxietyawareness #vcse #charitywork #dogoodfeelgood #mentalhealthsupport @nightmayor2024 Carly Heselwood

Leading the Simplified Wellness Movement ✨ wellpreneur helping women heal hormones + transform their bodies with holistic nutrition and yoga 🌱 Wellness Coach + Speaker + Event Curator
Here’s something you might not know happens when you start a wellness journey with me that’s rooted in healing… Yes! I’ll create a nutrition and movement strategy that’s unique to your body, and guide you through it every step of the way. The scale will finally start to move, and you’ll start pulling out the pants you were about to donate because now, they don’t just fit - they fit better than they ever have. BUT the craziest part is you’ll also start to have more energy; your mental outlook will shift, and you’ll have a new sense of confidence — in what you’re capable of and what’s possible for you. And although some of my clients might say otherwise, it’s NOT BECAUSE I’m a magician. ;) It’s because my strategy (and coaching) goes SO MUCH DEEPER than calories in vs. calories out. So if you got up this morning thinking: ‘I’m ready for results!’ Let’s chat - I’m here to help.

International Men’s Health Week… June 10th-16th is International Men’s Health Week… did you know there was such a thing? I didn’t and I should. As men, historically, we have been terrible about talking about our physical and mental health, and yet it is so important. International Men’s Health Week typically occurs in the run up to Father’s Day. This year, for me, Father’s Day is going to be really hard. My father passed away a little over two weeks ago and if I’m being honest, I am sort of dreading Father’s Day this year. So, let’s talk about why this week is important. This week is a great reminder that it’s ok to spend time focusing on wellbeing, to help one another make decisions about our health, lifestyle and if applicable seek medical advice. * Talk about your wellbeing, share your story * Enjoy some physical exercise * Encourage the men you know to talk more Early morning rides or runs are what I turn to in order to improve my Mental Health. Lastly, if anyone in my network reads this and wants to chat, I will make time for you. Thanks for reading #mentalhealth #internationalmenshealthweek

Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from Monday 13 to Sunday 19 May 2024, focuses on the theme of "Movement: moving for our mental health." This year, the goal is to find activities that engage both your body and mind. Engaging in physical activity has numerous benefits for our overall well-being. It has been proven to reduce anxiety and depression, as well as help prevent physical illnesses. Unfortunately, individuals with mental health conditions often have a shorter life expectancy, primarily due to avoidable physical illnesses. They are more prone to developing conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, bowel cancer, and breast cancer. Research indicates that 56% of people have found regular exercise to be helpful in managing stress and preventing burnout. Movement doesn't have to be limited to traditional exercise activities like going to the gym or participating in team sports. Here are some creative ideas to incorporate movement into your daily routine for better mental health: Take the stairs instead of the lift or escalator. Have a mini dance party in your living room while listening to your favorite music. Try out a new hobby that involves physical activity, such as gardening, yoga, or hula hooping. Take a walk during your lunch break or after dinner to enjoy some fresh air and clear your mind. Join a local community group or club that organises outdoor activities like hiking, cycling, or kayaking. Use a standing desk or take regular stretch breaks if you have a sedentary job. Play active games with your children or pets, such as tag, hide-and-seek, or fetch. Explore your neighbourhood or nearby parks by going for a bike ride or rollerblading. Attend a dance or fitness class that interests you, such as Zumba, salsa, or kickboxing. Incorporate movement into household chores by doing squats while folding laundry or lunges while vacuuming. Remember, the goal is to find activities that you enjoy and that get you moving. By incorporating movement into your daily life in creative ways, you can improve your mental well-being and overall health. So, during Mental Health Awareness Week, explore different ways to move your body and mind, and discover the positive impact it can have on your mental well-being. #mentalhealth #physicalandmentalhealth #proactive #selfcare #mentalhealthawarenessweek2024
