That time is coming, the biggest time of year for brands and retailers across the globe. Take a look at how Narvar is approaching peak season strategy!

And so, here we find ourselves again, preparing for the chaos of the end of year rush 🫣 Between festive celebrations, trading closures, end of year sales and trying to fit in an *actual break* - it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. The good news is that it’s not too early to get prepared. Especially when you have our ultimate end of year checklist for small business owners by your side ✅ Read, save and share this with your fellow business owners. 1) Do a financial review. Book time with your business adviser to make sure you’re well-prepared for the silly season and ready to take on 2025. Make sure to discuss opportunities to free up cash flow, upcoming changes to staff/resourcing and plans for supplier/your shutdown periods. ⁠ 2) Reach out to your team and check in 🫶. It’s now October and the chances are they’re probably feeling a little exhausted. Take the time to connect with them and communicate any holiday period company policies (leave, closures, etc) well in advance. 3) Audit last year's performance in the run up to Dec 31. What does the data tell you? Use this info to predict trends, avoid overstocking, supply chain disruptions and over (or under) staffing. 4) Plan ahead. Don't let 2025 creep up. One of the hallmarks of a super-successful-business is that they get plans in place to keep momentum going and minimise lulls (and associated cashflow crunches) during shutdowns and slow seasons. 5) Consider what your customer experience looks like over the festive season. Give your customers or clients ample notice of any shutdowns (and update those Google Business Hours!). What are your order / shipping cut-off dates? If this is a busy time for your business, consider hiring casual staff to help your customers (and permanent team!) feel valued. 6) Take a moment to pause and reflect. What were your key wins for Q1-Q2? What needs improvement? Waiting till January to look back on performance means you may miss out on opportunities to make the most of crucial trading periods.⁠ This time can feel like a race against the clock. I adore the holiday season. Sure, it gets chilly outside, and early sunsets can be a bit of a drag. But it’s also a time when people slow down, spend more moments with family and friends, and reflect. But for those of us in sales, the holidays can bring a different kind of stress— especially if you haven't hit you’re number yet. Deals slow down, folks are less likely to want to start a conversation, and the push-off to the new year begins This week, as I’ve been making calls, I’ve started hearing the dreaded “Let’s connect in 2025”. So, what to do? For me it comes down to two approaches: 1. Push for urgency and try to lock in a time Pros: You might secure a meeting and keep the momentum going. Cons: It can come across as tone-deaf or pushy, which risks burning bridges. 2. Respect their timeline and plan to follow up Pros: This feels more authentic to me and acknowledges that people are busy during this season. While I’m genuinely excited to introduce them to Yoodli, I also want to be respectful of their time. Cons: They might never pick up the phone again, leaving you back at square one. I don’t think there’s a single "right" answer here—it’s probably about finding a balance. Some situations call for urgency, while others demand patience and respect.
