Researchers have made a significant breakthrough by developing DNA nanobots capable of targeting and killing cancer cells in mice. These nanobots are designed using DNA origami techniques, allowing them to be precisely programmed to seek out and bind to specific cancer cells. Once attached, the nanobots deliver therapeutic agents directly to the tumor, minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. In preclinical trials, these DNA nanobots demonstrated the ability to effectively reduce tumor size and improve survival rates in mice. This innovative approach offers a promising new avenue for cancer treatment, potentially leading to more effective and less invasive therapies.
