Networking means sharing jobs with others. You may not be qualified for a job or aren't looking, but you know others who are. In that vain, I'm sharing these jobs where I have a direct contact. Candidate: I can do just anything, such as task management, billing, and being a creative director or customer support rep. He turned me off. ❌ Person two: Hi, I know you have a marketing firm. Are you currently looking to hire? Me: What are your areas of experience? Candidate: I have experience in project management, but I like other similar tasks, too, and I am open to learning. 3 Mindset Shifts for Hiring a Virtual Assistant! 1. "I can do it all." vs. Strategic delegation: Trust that other people are competent and can do things well if not exactly like you would do them. Giving up control is scary, but your business and your leadership skills are strong enough to navigate the change. 2. Cost vs. Investment: View hiring as an investment and not an expense. Paying good talent is always the right move when they’re handling the operational and administrative tasks that allow you to focus on power moves. 3.Solo vs. Collaborative: Even if you’re only hiring for the short-term, some collaboration is better than no collaboration. This is not a pity post. This is me taking a moment to reach out to my network and brag about my skills, which I’ve been told I don’t do enough of. Hey, I’m from the Midwest where we’re notorious for being a little too humble sometimes 😅 I’ve been searching for a new role since last September after a tech layoff. Though I’ve had some interviews, I’ve not yet found my perfect fit. So, why should anyone hire me? I can think of a million reasons, but here are a few key ones that resonate the most: • I’m not just a writer. I’ve also played the roles of account manager, project manager, product researcher, business development representative, billing specialist, inside sales representative, event coordinator, and health coach. • I’m a (karma) chameleon. I’ve been a ghostwriter for businesses in home improvement, the travel industry, law firms, plastic surgeons, automotive manufacturers, clean energy providers, consumer health brands, a global e-commerce giant, and fitness influencers with over a million followers. • I’m a nerd and a great researcher. Writing about complex topics like health and nutrition doesn’t faze me. Many of the industries I’ve written for, I've had little to no prior knowledge of.
