📊 Understanding the Impact 📊 This #CAPMonth, let's look at the numbers: Over 650,000 children were found to be victims of maltreatment in the US last year, and this is likely an underestimate. Behind these numbers are real children facing real challenges. But there's hope – through our collective efforts, we can make a difference. Initiatives like Digital Advocacy Day, Wearing Blue Day, and donations to PCAA play a crucial role. These actions strengthen our fight against child abuse and neglect, ensuring every child has the chance to grow up in a safe, loving environment. No child should ever have to endure the horrific experience of abuse. No child should feel alone in the fight to survive and thrive. We can help. If we don’t get comfortable talking about the fact that abuse is happening to 1 in 7 children throughout Utah, then nothing will change. We are all responsible for the welfare of future generations within our communities and beyond. Together, we can make a BIG difference for small voices to be heard. Here are three ways to get comfortable talking about the uncomfortable topic of child abuse: 1️⃣ Donate: Financial contributions are crucial to support the Friends programs and initiatives. Even a small donation can go a long way in providing resources and assistance to the 3700 child victims (including their family members) affected by child abuse annually in Salt Lake County. Make a donation using our bio link and receive the “Rise to Thrive” playlist by globally recognized @djmegantaylor to help survivors become thrivers. 2️⃣ Get your company involved. Abuse impacts employee families on every level and in turn impacts the productivity of your company. Consider hosting a fundraiser for the Friends to raise awareness for child abuse and the Children’s Justice Center in your organization. 3️⃣ Spread the Word: Use your voice and platforms to raise awareness about child abuse and the Friends nonprofit. Share our safety tips (link in bio), mission, events, and success stories on social media, and encourage others to get involved. Remember, every effort counts, and together we can create a safer and more nurturing community for all children. Every kid deserves a friend. 💙🤝 #EndChildAbuse #SupportFriendsNonprofit #stopthesilence #protectourchildren #risetothrive #parenting #saltlakecounty #childprotection #childabuseawareness #nooneisalone #everykiddeservesafriend

‘’Before coming to Lighthouse, it was hard to feel safe.’’ Like many young people who come to Lighthouse, Olivia was living in an unsafe home and witnessed domestic violence. 🎉 Exciting Announcement! 🎉 On Wednesday, June 12th, we at Life Ed Qld will be hosting our first-ever Giving Day: Hand Up, Stand Up for Qld Kids! For 24 hours, every donation will be MATCHED thanks to our generous partners. This is a unique opportunity to double your impact and help us reach even more children across Queensland. Why is this so crucial? Every year, the Department of Child Safety receives over 30,000 notifications of child abuse and neglect. Many children are unsafe in their own homes, and the true scale of this issue is even larger. Our Safe Kids, Safe Bodies program empowers children with the knowledge to protect themselves and recognise abuse. On Giving Day, every $30 raised will fund this essential program for one child in a disadvantaged community. Here's how you can make a difference: 1. SAVE the date: Wednesday, June 12th. Remember, your donation will be matched for 24 hours only. 2. WATCH this video: Understand why your support is critical on this day. 3. SHARE this post: Please help us spread the word to others who are passionate about protecting children. Let's come together to ensure every child feels safe and supported. Your participation can transform lives, offering hope and a brighter furture to those who need it most!! 🔗 https://lnkd.in/guqah2Re Join us in making a real difference for Qld kids!

Every child has the right to a safe home, but unfortunately in Australia not every child gets one. With one in seven Australian’s experiencing childhood abuse, exposure to family violence is devastatingly common. The consequences of violence against a child can have a lasting impact on their development and wellbeing. Children exposed to violence are drastically more likely to be at an academic and cognitive disadvantage to their peers, and are two times more likely to experience intimate partner violence as an adult. By giving children access to the tools, resources and support they need to recover from trauma, we can change the statistics and give them the bright future they deserve. WAGEC’s Helping Children Heal program seeks to mitigate the harm caused by family violence. By ensuring the social, educational, developmental and emotional needs of children escaping violence, we can make sure no child gets left behind. Your donation will help children heal from family violence. Donate now via bit.ly/3Rf5dVc

Help Us Create Homes for Women and Children Affected by Violence 🏠 💜 In the last 3 years (1st of July 2020 to 30th April 2024), we at the Hobart Women's Shelter have witnessed a disturbing increase in the demand for our services. Over 4379 women and their children have sought emergency accommodation from us - and we have only been able to support 929 of those women and children. That’s 8 in 10 people we have had to turn away due to always being at capacity. Tasmania’s housing crisis is particularly damaging for women and children. Women and children are staying longer at our Shelter as there are limited affordable housing options available. Unfortunately, many of these women and their children will stay in, or return to, violent situations where they are at risk of experiencing further trauma, injury, and in some cases death. The number one reason why women will not leave a violent situation is the fear of being homeless. In 2022, we embarked on an ambitious project to build 25 new long-term homes to create additional housing pathways and help alleviate the bottleneck in our service. We’ve completed our first two homes, showcased here, and received two more land donations for future development. While we have achieved so much already, there is still a long way to go. You can help us create beautiful, safe homes and housing pathways for women and children. Buy a Brick today and help build someone's future. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. https://lnkd.in/gHMz5Bja #genderbasedviolence #genderbasedviolenceawareness #hobart #tasmania #nonprofitleadership #philanthropy #EOFY #advocacy #endviolence #homelessness #donatetoday #communityengagement #corporateresponsibility #socialimpact
