There is no pamphlet for parenting, but we do know what it takes to create a comprehensive primary prevention ecosystem that keeps children and families safe, healthy, and thriving. PCA America's signature program, Healthy Families America (HFA), has 30 years of demonstrated positive outcomes with home visiting, sometimes partnering with families that span generations. And yet, when you combine all of the organizations across the country providing this necessary service to communities, only 5% percent of eligible high priority families received home visiting services in 2022. Make a gift today in support of critical support for families, like HFA: https://lnkd.in/gX7wzH2r #PreventionIsPossible #HealthyFamiliesAmerica #HomeVisitingProgram #SupportingFamilies #DonateToday

We want to highlight a recent report from the Disabled Children's Partnership, ‘This is my Life’ presenting the views of disabled young people and what their access to support is like. 90% of young people are reporting that their parents are not getting the right amount of support from the social care system, and despite an increased policy focus in recent years, the situation for disabled children and their families day-to-day, is getting worse due to reduction in government spending and local authority budgets. See the full report by clicking the link in the first comment, below. 👇 Tree of Hope is one of the 120 coalition organisations that support the campaigning for improved health and social care for children, young people, and their families. We help children and their families raise the money they need to fund their children’s healthcare needs, and we are excited to be working on our next three years strategy to keep on building our services, so we are here for more families who need us. If your family needs our help, we help families fundraise for their children up until the age of 18 but funds can be spent until they turn 25, helping with that transition period from childhood. #ThisIsMyLife #DCP #Campaign #Report #HealthandSocialCare #TreeOfHope

You may have heard of ACEs, a tool that can be used to understand a person’s “Adverse Childhood Experiences” and shape care to their needs. Our 2023 Impact Report found that, out of 1,312 children surveyed, 76% reported at least one ACE. This includes 36% experiencing two or three ACEs and 12% reporting four or more. The most common ACEs include physical and emotional neglect.* By providing food, safe housing, and education to young people living in conflict zones, we can ease the impact of these life-changing events for children like Oholong**. Six-year-old Oholong was just a year old when war ravaged his community, claiming the lives of his parents. His frail and aging grandmother took on the responsibility of caring for him but was unable to because she lacked access to medical care for herself and food for them both. Also fearing insecurity in the region, she discovered LUV’s commitment to protecting children like Oholong. The young boy is now safe, attending school, and eating well. Your support helped his loving grandmother provide the best possible future for Oholong. To uplift children and women like these two, donate here: https://lnkd.in/gYPVyfzK *The use of a storytelling model allowed children to freely share about their lives without prompting or pressure. In reality, we know ACEs are prevalent at even higher rates for the children in our programs but are not reflected in our data. **Our commitment is to keep children safe online, and because this child is under the age of 18, his name was changed to protect his identity. #LUV #EndHumanTrafficking #LiftUpTheVulnerable #StopHumanTrafficking #LUVTransforms #EmpoweringLives #Impact #HumanTrafficking #Hope #Transformation #EndOppression #InvestInHope #Protection #StoriesOfImpact

Research by Morgan et al. (2009) highlights that household income has an impact on childrens’ development. Studies like these underscore the vital importance of quality child care, especially for working families and those in lower socioeconomic brackets. At Kids Co., we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background. Our child care programs provide safe, supportive environments where children can develop the social, emotional, and cognitive skills they need to thrive in school and in life. By offering working parents peace of mind and giving their children a strong foundation, we help level the playing field so that every child can reach their full potential. You can support families who want to provide their child with a better future: donate, share, and advocate for a fully-funded child care system. Happy New Year! 🎉 Embracing New Beginnings and Committing to Change As we step into the new year, we celebrate fresh starts and the promises of new beginnings. It's a time for setting goals, embracing hope, and committing to personal and community growth. This year, let’s also pledge to support and uplift those in our community who face difficult challenges, including families affected by domestic violence. In 2025, I encourage everyone to become more informed and involved in the fight against domestic violence. A great resource to begin with is the Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV). The TCFV works tirelessly to provide support, education, and advocacy to eradicate domestic violence across Texas. They offer various programs that empower survivors and assist service providers through training, public policy advocacy, and community education. Let’s use our voices and actions to make a difference. Whether it’s volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, every effort counts towards building safer, healthier environments for all. Here are a few ways to get involved: Educate yourself about the signs of domestic violence and the resources available. Support local shelters by donating funds or essential items. Advocate for policies that protect survivors and hold perpetrators accountable. Reach out and offer support to someone who may be experiencing domestic violence. Remember, change begins with us. Let’s stand together to support the TCFV and ensure that no one has to face domestic violence alone. Here’s to a hopeful and impactful 2025! For more information or to get involved, visit Texas Council on Family Violence. #NewYearNewBeginnings #EndDomesticViolence #TCFV

The For Baby’s Sake Trust applauds the announcement of a significant overhaul in children's social care, the largest in a generation. We are encouraged by the commitment to tackle the key challenges within the system and to prioritise the protection and support of babies, children, and families. As a charity dedicated to breaking the cycle of domestic abuse and improving the outcomes for babies and their families, we greatly appreciate the investment in early intervention and the prioritisation of support for vulnerable parents. Our experience shows that creating safe and nurturing environments for babies can significantly transform their futures and prevent harm. Lauren Seager-Smith AIRL FRSA, CEO of The For Baby’s Sake Trust, stated, “This overhaul presents a crucial opportunity to ensure that every baby and child receives the best possible start in life. We must take decisive action to provide families with the necessary support, including critical intervention to break the cycle of domestic abuse. We look forward to collaborating with partners across the sector to achieve these essential goals.” We hope this marks the start of meaningful, sustained change and a brighter future for children and families across the country. Empowering Young Minds: A New Initiative for Children with OCD🌟 In the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach, a nonprofit is sowing the seeds of hope and healing for children across the nation. JACK Mental Health Advocacy has embarked on a mission to transform the lives of young individuals grappling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Imagine a summer camp where children can find solace, understanding, and the tools they need to navigate their mental health journey. JACK is offering $15,000 grants to International OCD Foundation affiliates to establish these transformative camps by summer 2025. These camps are not just a getaway; they are a lifeline for children caught in the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. But JACK’s vision goes beyond funding. Each grant recipient will receive a comprehensive manual and training with a clinician specializing in pediatric OCD camps, ensuring these programs are equipped to make a lasting impact. The goal? To "plant" two to three of these camps each year, creating a ripple effect of change and support for families nationwide. Share your nonprofit or noble cause with us and we will share it in an upcoming post! #MentalHealthMatters #OCDSupport #InspiringChange #NonprofitLeadership #InvestInHope

#ChannelOneMN is the recipient of a UCare Foundation grant, which will help us increase the number of people reached and helping eliminate barriers to access through prepared meals in local communities through our Kitchen Coalition program! Not everyone facing hunger has the home, health, or ability to use groceries a food bank offers, including students, seniors, and people experiencing homelessness. • Kitchen Coalition addresses these barriers by partnering with other organizations to serve up culturally connected, freshly prepared meals. With grants like UCare, Channel One can help provide 979 meals weekly to those who have the need for prepared meals, like the residents at the emergency Women's Shelter in Rochester. The promise of a meal is not only beneficial nutritionally, but helps these residents find community and peace of mind in the face of so much adversity. "Having meals readily available truly helps to foster a warm, homelike environment where everyone feels safe and welcome. Meals can be shared together at our large dining room table or in resident’s room, where they have their own microwaves."
