Hello #astronomers! Today, we are thrilled to announce the latest update of PLAY #astrophotography software, featuring the new PLANETARIUM sky chart! When we control our #telescopes, we love connecting our mount to planetarium software with starts, planets, and deep-sky objects. This provides an interactive experience to explore the universe and an easier way to control our telescopes. With the new PLAY 1.9 release, we’ve integrated the PLANETARIUM tab that creates sky chart based on your time and location settings, allowing you to identify stars, planets, constellations, and deep-sky objects, and point your telescope at them easily. Here are some features of the new PLANETARIUM: 🔭 Real-time telescope position tracking. 📷 Field of view (FoV) plotting based on your telescope and camera. 🌟 Easy object selection. 🔄 Rotate the field of view with ARCO rotator. ✨ Suggested Targets feature with the best objects to capture. PLAY now allows you to control your telescope in the easiest way ever, perfect for both personal and complete astronomical observatories like our Observatory Stations!

Delve into the world of astrophotography with the innovative CDK telescope by PlaneWave. Developed by Dave Rowe, this telescope's optical design is a game-changer in the field. 🔭 Unlike traditional telescopes, the CDK is engineered to eliminate common issues like coma, off-axis astigmatism, and field curvature. This means you can capture stunning images with pinpoint star clarity across the entire imaging plane.✨ The CDK's design comprises three essential components: an ellipsoidal primary mirror, a spherical secondary mirror, and a lens group. Together, they work seamlessly to ensure exceptional image quality, making it the ideal choice for capturing the wonders of the cosmos. Discover the simplicity and elegance of the CDK telescope and embark on a journey to explore the universe with unprecedented precision and clarity. 👉 PlaneWave.com #CDKTelescope #Astrophotography #PlaneWaveInstruments

New Boris Chimp 504 Audiovisual Live Act : RED SPECTRUM . “Spitzer Space Telescope was an infrared observatory, used to study objects too cold to emit visible light, including exoplanets, brown dwarfs, comets, and asteroids. Despite halting its science operations in January 2020, it has recently and unexpectedly started transmitting... in the red spectrum! Besides this apparent malfunction of the abandoned telescope, it has also been transmitting data of uncanny mechanical structures and unknown bio-organisms.” This new Boris Chimp 504’s chapter explores new territories and space dimensions by adding a new color dimension to the monochromatic vision and merging organic and two-dimensional visuals with the usual 3D geometric-hard edges aesthetic. The audiovisual narrative follows up with Boris Chimp 504 voyages through outer space emerging the audiences in space exploration, science and technology themes, merging reality and fiction. #avlive #avshow #audiovisualart #livevisuals #liveperformance #generativeart #audioreactive #artsnumeriques @vuoflow #digitalart #generativegraphics

Reflections from retirement: My telescope camera has the ability to remove streaks created by satellites in "almost" real time--a type of fault tolerance. Working with a product team that fully implemented fault tolerance has definitely changed my values and appreciation for high service availability. Now back to my astrophotography.

Nebulae, which are massive clouds of dust and gas, are popular targets for deep-sky astrophotography due to their size and colour combinations. They also happen to make great targets for beginners because they are easier to focus, frame, and process compared to dimmer, smaller objects. We've put together a list of the brightest nebulae in the night sky for your next clear night. How many have you checked off your list? ☑ https://lnkd.in/gQdXMwXM
