The Procurement Reform Act in Wales is deeply aligned with national and local well-being objectives, echoing the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act principles and the Wales procurement policy statement. Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council sought to integrate these principles into its procurement processes, nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship between financial prudence and community prosperity. We supported the Council with the implementation of the new procurement principles, by: -Carrying out an assessment of the procurement operations, tools, systems and processes. - Creating a roadmap to support NPT in transforming its procurement service to be ready for procurement reform. We are pleased to announce that on October 2, 2023 , Miami-Dade County was featured in an article titled "Miami-Dade County's Procurement Modernization" on Bilzin Sumberg ’s Government Procurement and P3 Insights (https://lnkd.in/edTT7zXA). The author, Diane C. Mendez commended the County’s efforts in modernizing its procurement processes and highlighted amendments to the bid protest procedures and the evaluation process to increase efficiency and accelerate procurement timelines. One notable amendment to the bid protest procedures offers bidders/proposers the opportunity to submit written objections within five days of receipt of the selection committee coordinator report, allowing procurement professionals to consider objections and mitigate protracted bid protest procedures. Amendments to the evaluation process include removal of obstacles to the formation and performance of selection committees and establishment of timelines for completion of certain phases in the evaluation process. Ms. Mendez commented that "as the County advances in this direction, preserving the right balance between accelerating the procurement process while maintaining adequate safeguards to maintain public trust should remain a priority". The Strategic Procurement Department (SPD) continues to strive to enhance efficiency and transparency in the County’s procurement processes. SPD ensures that the processes are Equitable to suppliers, sustainable for the Environment, beneficial to the Economy and promote collaboration by Engaging the community with integrity, fairness, innovation, competition, efficiency and transparency. #StrategicProcurement #miamidade #miamidadecounty #smallbusiness

What happens when multiple, short term projects need to be completed at the same time? Read our full case study about how eXceeding helped a London borough council in awarding and managing contracts. eXceeding ran the council’s ITT (invitation to tender) process, which was purposefully SME-friendly. Our experts supported the council with the entire end-to-end procurement process, including establishing a reporting process through which the projects could be tracked.
