🏡 Dive into our newly released Townhouse Report! Here are some eye-opening facts from the report: 1️⃣ Did you know? The County boasts 359,163 residential units, spread across 93,950 acres. That's 146.8 square miles of diverse living spaces. 2️⃣ Single-family detached houses have ruled the roost, but the balance is shifting. In 2022, townhouses made up 20% of housing. 3️⃣ Townhouses are on the rise! The tide turned in 2017 when new townhouses outpaced single-family homes. 4️⃣ District 6 takes the lead in townhouse living. Jason is absolutely right. And infill (and retrofit) housing make even more sense given the reality that residents who live within five minutes of a retail spend two to four times as much per capita as workers who are equally close by. And given that 80%+ of net new households for the next two decades and beyond will be singles and couples without kids and strongly prefer living (and working) in mixed-use, walkable places, the market demand is there is virtually every cities with stagnant as well robust growth. Rough rule of thumb: 1,000 net new housing units within a 5-minute walk will bring a block of "Main Street" to life. Onward and upward :)
