Welcome to another video on color theory. Now that we've provided an understanding of the fundamentals of the color wheel. In the previous video, we'll explain 3 dimensions of color, Hue, value, and chroma. While color theory describes color relationships, Hue Value and Chroma describe the intricacies of individual colors. Munsell Color System, created by Albert H Munsell, was described as a rational way to describe color using decimal notation instead of common color names. Hue value and chroma are the axis of the system which help differentiate colors and undertones. Developing an eye for hue value and chroma and learning to identify the traits of any given. It will serve as an asset in any field which involves color. Hue describes color families rather than specific shades. Each rainbow includes a range of hues. Every hue is a color, but not every color is a hue. Each hue has a wide range of colors within it thanks to variations of values and chromas. For example, within the hue blue, the different colors include baby, blue, Navy, and so on. Value refers to how light or dark color is. Black is an automatic color. It has a value of 0 on the Munsell color system, and white the value of 10/1. Way to discern. Tell his value is to squint when you look at it. When you squint, your eyelashes filter and block out colored light. Then you can see the Gray undertones or the value of an object. Chroma refers to the strength of saturation of a color. It describes the intensity of the color or how puritan pure colors at maximum Chroma or high chroma color have no wider black in them, making them bright colors. It can also be thought of as a strength or dominance of a given color. Lower chromas fall into the pastel category colors with higher Thomas or more saturated these still much bolder and more intense.
