Jaishankar, India's Minister for External Affairs, deliver a thought-provoking speech at the 79th UN General Debate. His address highlighted some of the most pressing issues the world faces today, with a strong emphasis on global cooperation, fairness in trade, and reforming multilateralism. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡: 👉 Dr. Jaishankar supported the UNGA theme of “Leaving No One Behind,” stressing that it "means advancing peace, ensuring sustainable development, and strengthening human dignity." He warned of the dangers of a UN that is "paralyzed when faced with division, conflict, terrorism, and violence"(🇮🇳 India). 👉 He addressed unfair trade practices, stating that "over-concentration of production has hollowed out many economies, impacting their employment and social stability." He called for the democratization of global production and building resilient supply chains(🇮🇳 India). 👉 Dr. Jaishankar emphasized India's leadership, showcasing how India has tackled challenges by supporting vulnerable communities through policies that ensure access to essential services, like piped water, electricity, and financial support for small businesses(🇮🇳 India).
