Something I learned long ago in the process re-engineering world - "if you have time to redo it, you have time to do it right the first time." Engaging technical and process experts in the (re)design of your certification program will save time and money, improve the end-user experience, and yield higher engagement rates. #certificationmanagement #innovation
In #certificationmanagement, one thing is almost always certain: There are multiple steps involved. Some of these steps are taken by applicants, some by staff or non-staff third parties, and some are taken by the system itself. “Certification management workflows” is a term that describes these steps to certification and recertification. Check out our blog where we describe best practices for designing these critical program components. #certification https://lnkd.in/eg6sTZ6v

Ineffective systems utilisation? So, you have implemented a new system, you feel everything has gone well and you are hoping it delivers all the benefits you identified. However, after a short while you start hearing the dreaded comment 💬 “it’s not as good as the old system” and the utilisation of the system is nothing like as you expected. Now, this can occur for many reasons but one is due to how people received training on how to use the new system. With many corporate systems, one of their objectives is to drive compliance. This may be reporting obligations, approval steps or more broadly to make sure a process is followed. Without an understanding of why these steps are important and how they assist in getting their work done more efficiently and effectively people tend to reflect it is just a “difficult system” to use. How do you overcome this? I have worked with organisations to design and deliver systems training which follows through typical workplace case studies and scenarios. The benefits achieved with this type of training is that participants understand why the system has been deliberately designed as it is, helping them in two ways: ✅ Firstly, with this understanding, they begin to utilise the system more effectively, and ✅ Secondly, they understand how to navigate scenarios when things aren’t so black and white If you are having troubles with the utilisation of your finance, procurement or project management system, please contact me and we can discuss how I can help. #systemstraining #Patchway #financesystems

Why Every Business Needs a Knowledge Management System Imagine a place in your business where every solution, insight, and lesson learned is available at the click of a button—a resource that evolves with your team, preserving expertise and supporting growth. A Knowledge Management System (KMS) is exactly that, and it’s transforming the way companies harness their most valuable asset: knowledge. What is a Knowledge Management System? A KMS is a centralized platform to capture, store, and share information within an organization. Beyond simply housing documents, it dynamically evolves to include policies, procedures, training materials, and lessons from past projects, making information readily accessible and useful for everyone. The Benefits of a Knowledge Management System 1. Improved Access to Information A KMS enables quick access to important information, reducing the time spent searching for answers and helping employees be more efficient. 2. Increased Productivity and Less Redundant Work By preventing duplicate efforts, a KMS allows employees to focus on adding new value rather than re-creating existing work. 3. Consistent Client and Customer Experience With everyone on the same page, businesses can ensure that customers and clients receive consistent, high-quality service. 4. Enhanced Training and Development For onboarding and ongoing training, a KMS allows employees to access resources anytime, making learning a continuous, self-paced process. 5. Preserving Institutional Knowledge A KMS helps retain valuable expertise, reducing the impact of employee turnover by capturing knowledge that might otherwise leave with them. 6. Promoting Collaboration and Innovation With a shared platform for information, employees can collaborate, build on each other’s ideas, and innovate with confidence. 7. Supporting Compliance and Managing Risk By centralizing critical documents, a KMS helps maintain compliance with industry regulations and reduces legal risks. Key Considerations for Implementing a KMS To succeed, a KMS should be user-friendly, regularly updated, and secure. Employee buy-in is also crucial, as the system’s value increases when more people use it actively. Ensuring clear access control can keep sensitive data secure while fostering open collaboration where appropriate. #learningAndDevelopment #instructionalDesign #humanPerformanceImprovement #knowledgeManagement #knowledgeManagementSystem
