Not making career progress? Not reaching your life goals? 👇 They are connected. Undergo a complete re-invention of yourself and become the specialist inside you. Set your biggest goals in 7 different categories, cost them and be clear on the salary level and career needed to achieve everything. It’s actually easier to specialise than be general because you only need to know one business outcome instead of many. For example, a person who says they can do this, that and many other things can’t really be good at all (or any) of them because they don’t have a specific focus. They also can’t focus their data and messages to win an interview for the same reason. However, if you identify a single business problem and make a valuable solution (i.e. you can fix/achieve/make something the company really needs) then you can focus your messages on your solution to that exact problem and show the company the value you will bring to them. Become more valuable. At the end of my program, you will have a different mindset, higher professional value, a clearer idea of your life and career options and all the necessary data to help you get your best job. Schedule a 1:1 session with your boss to confirm and align expectations. Get access to the key policy, procedure and systems so you know what’s the standard. Does this sound like you? You are juggling a lot—between doing your best to earn a living, taking care of yourself and others, managing personal responsibilities such as bills and maintaining our homes, and fostering relationships. If you recently decided to embark upon a job search, you may be dealing with stress, anxiety, and overwhelm. If you are extremely dissatisfied and unfulfilled in your current position or are currently laid off, the sense of urgency and pressure is even greater! Know that you can choose to approach the job search with a chaotic mind: doom scrolling job boards, applying to jobs we aren’t even sure we want or are qualified for, applying to jobs only with the "easy apply" button, not tailoring our resume for each role, not tracking applications which makes following up difficult, etc. Or you can choose to approach the job search with a clear vision and a logical plan to get there. No matter where you are in terms of preparing for a job search or executing one, I recommend on Sundays you ask yourself, what would a good week look like in terms of moving forward in my career? Here are some additional questions to ask🤔: ➡️ How much time can I realistically dedicate to my job search this week and when? (block out on your calendar!) ➡️ Within the time I set aside, what would I like to achieve? ➡️ Who should I reach out to this week to support me, follow up with, or network with? If you're having trouble finding a job, here's a helpful tip that can increase your chances by 400%: 1. Look up the company on LinkedIn. 2. Identify someone in a position of authority for the job you're interested in, such as the hiring manager or head of the department. 3. Send them a message expressing your interest and ask for the right person to speak to. 4. Give that person a call and show your interest in the role, using the connections you made on LinkedIn to establish familiarity. Believe me, following this advice will make you really stand out.
