This is fairly important, my friends. If you took umbrage or otherwise protested being coerced into wearing a mask or subjected to drug trials (then known as vaccines), perhaps consider contacting your MLA, your MP as well as @JustinTrudeau and anyone else you can think of; most particuarly left-leaning friends and family in other parts of Canada. Many thanks to Nigel Hannaford at (independent) Western Standard News for this update. "As you read this, the Trudeau Liberals — the Government of Canada — are getting ready to sign, on your behalf, the World Health Organization's Convention on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response. This is a big deal. If they do — and the Government of Canada has been all in from the start in 2021 — the next time there's a worldwide pandemic, the public health orders will not be originating in Ottawa or the capital of your province. They will come from the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva and will be the work of their bureaucrats guided, one is invited to believe, by experts. The role of Canadian officials will be reduced to conveying these orders. To you. The convention is due to be signed by the end of this month. Here's what they're signing up for, on your behalf. As a signatory to the agreement, Canada must '... undertake to follow WHO’s recommendations in their international public health response.' Canada must also promise to follow directions quickly: "Health measures taken pursuant to these Regulations ... shall be initiated and completed without delay by all State Parties... State Parties shall also take measures to ensure Non-State Actors operating in their respective territories comply with such measures." And they must darn well silence any opposition. For, the UN has contrapted a neologism... infodemic."

The Undeniable Impact of Current Wars on Public Health In a world that strives for peace and progress, the persistent conflicts in various regions have cast a long and dark shadow on global public health. 🌍💔 The ongoing wars, with their destructive power, are not confined to the battlefields alone. Their consequences ripple through communities, leaving a trail of suffering that extends to the realm of public health. 🏥💥 🩺 **Strained Healthcare Systems**: One immediate impact of wars is the severe strain on local healthcare systems. Hospitals and clinics struggle to cope with an influx of wounded civilians, and vital medical supplies are often in short supply. An example of this is what’s happening currently in #gaza 🚸 **Displaced Populations**: Millions are forced to flee their homes, becoming refugees in their own countries or seeking asylum abroad. This displacement disrupts healthcare access and leaves vulnerable populations at risk. Not to talk if the broken community that give people joy. 💧 **Water and Sanitation**: Wars can lead to damaged infrastructure, disrupting water and sanitation services. Contaminated water sources and inadequate sanitation facilities create a breeding ground for diseases. 🌆 **Mental Health Challenges**: The psychological toll of living through war cannot be underestimated. The constant threat to life and loss of loved ones lead to widespread trauma and mental health issues. 🦠 **Disease Outbreaks**: The breakdown of healthcare systems and sanitation infrastructure can trigger disease outbreaks. Diseases like cholera and polio often make a resurgence in conflict zones. 🕊️ **The Path to Peace**: Addressing the impact of war on public health requires not just medical intervention but a collective commitment to peace and conflict resolution. Diplomacy and humanitarian efforts play a crucial role in mitigating these crises. It's vital to remember that wars do not only destroy lives in the immediate sense, but they also erode the foundations of public health, leaving a legacy of challenges that can persist for generations. As professionals, let's raise our voices for peace, support organizations working in conflict zones, and strive for a world where healthcare is a universal right, even in the most challenging of circumstances. 🌟🤝 #PublicHealth #GlobalPeace #WarEffects #HumanitarianEfforts #HealthcareMatters #GlobalHealth
