Good to see WHO focus on the big things in life that affect public health with simple pragmatic solutions that work and deliver huge impact globally. High blood pressure being one of the most important and most treatable. Simple and pragmatic approaches are the answer but in many countries with more advanced health care systems remain too complex, over-engineered and too doctor centric for the majority of patients.

The world is witnessing the highest number of violent conflicts since World War 2, pushing people into conflict zones, breaking down health systems and exacerbating the spread of diseases. We must urgently bolster our health systems to prepare for crisis. Emergency preparedness is a crucial investment, and we look to solutions such as the #PandemicFund to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations.
