Went to a garden party. On Sunday, April 7, Project Angel Food's Circle of Angels Garden Party unfolded as a vibrant celebration of hope and philanthropy. It was the inaugural event at David Cooley's expansive 4,000-square-foot Trousdale Estate, showcasing a collection of modern art masterpieces and photography. This event drew Circle of Angels donors and their guests into an engaging tapestry of storytelling, exquisite culinary delights, meaningful fundraising efforts, and warm social engagement, all crowned with an intimate performance by #1 Billboard emerging artist Em Beihold ("Numb Little Bug" "Until I Found You" "Maybe Life Is Good"). The gathering marked a historic moment for Project Angel Food, raising funds for more than 43,000 meals — the highest ever at a Circle of Angels Garden Party, initiated by a substantial $50,000 donation from CAA Co-Chair Kevin Huvane. Check out highlights in this short film by Danielle Ernst. https://lnkd.in/gfkJypDm

Question for the day: If zoning ordinances need to be improved to allow for nonprofits to make good use, lifesaving and life-sustaining use of unused industrial space, why not do so? A recent study of human trafficking in the US has shown the I-65/US-30 area as one of the hotspots for human trafficking activity. one of the reasons given is it access to the massive warehouse space that is available. Traffickers are known for using space like this for their exchange points for victims to be turned over to local handlers.
Catholic Charities has great need for a larger more central distribution center for its Food Pantry and Mobile Food Pantry, and the local nonprofit shelter for victims of human trafficking, 'Ashley's House,' has outgrown it's space as it continues to move women from modern-day slavery to independence and safety. How can this abundance of space be used to help local nonprofits serving our neighbors in need? #NWI #northwestindiana #hunger #humantrafficking #realestate #nonprofits

This is just up the road from Dufftown, in Elgin. A Foodbank. Are the people of Moray not embarrassed that a SINGLE Firm, (yet just 8% of the entire Scotch Whisky Industry), can take out HALF A BILLION DOLLARS, from the clearly impoverished area, in just a year? Why ON EARTH do we have a Foodbank here? It's only 18 miles drive, between Dufftown and Elgin. Have you been to Elgin? Have you been to Dufftown? There nothing much paved with Gold! It's a similar story, all over Scotland. If you go to most Scottish Foodbanks, they're usually beside a Distillery, Maturation Shed, Cask Manufacturer or Bottler. When are we having a Scotch Whisky Tourism Strategy and Budget? One that gives back, to the areas of Scotland who make the stuff and doesn’t just take. The Scotch Whisky Association knows it's ridiculous, that why they won't let me tag them, on here! There's an App to tell you where the nearest Foodbank is, there's NOT one to tell you where the nearest Distillery is... Does ANYONE care? "Food Solutions New England (FSNE) was launched in 2011 as a regional, six-state network that unites the food system community around a shared set of values - democratic empowerment, racial equity and #dignity for all #sustainability, and #trust - and strengthens the movement’s ability to achieve the goals of A New England Food Vision. Crafted following region-wide gatherings in each New England state organized by FSNE, A New England Food Vision articulates a vision of a powerful food movement that democratically transforms the food system so that it is sustainable, just, and resilient. "Over the following years, FSNE has focused on four overlapping and interdependent impact areas as a unique and essential contribution to the regional food system - Network Expansion and Movement Weaving, #Equity Leadership Development and Practice, Integrated Regional #Policy, and #Narrative Strategy. Complementary to the work of FSNE network partners, these impact areas drive the strategy of FSNE and the backbone team in stewarding the goals and values of A New England Food Vision. They are designed to support and seek input from the regional #foodsystem community while fostering a collaborative and creative environment for everyone to pursue unique, yet connected, approaches to food-related work. "By supporting the development of a network of compelling, committed, and diverse advocates and practitioners centered around a shared set of #values, actionable solutions that are rooted in communities across the region continue to emerge in pursuit of a just transition of the food system. "Some of the specific projects of Food Solutions New England that intersect with multiple impact areas are: FSNE 21-Day Racial Equity Habit-Building Challenge, Campaign for Climate Resilience, Campaign for Right to Food, Network Leadership Institute, Northeast Food Systems Communicators Community of Practice, FSNE Winter Intensives ... This (net)work is needed now more than ever. Our original commitment was to a generation of work (25 years) and we are half-way there. Doing so much for so many who need it so much.
Lovely to see our incredible St Vincent's Newcastle centre featured in BBC News this week! Due to increased demand, the centre will be expanding its low cost food and clothing market into a five days per week service! Used by about 250 people, Vinnies' Pop-Up Market offers a range of foods as well as hygiene products, baby food, household items and clothes. All money raised from the market goes back into providing new stock for the centre. Read more today! https://lnkd.in/eYUPsiMY #CommunitySupport #Charity

Mitchell Brewing Co.'s cheeky beer name, Osama Bin Lager, is creating a buzz! This light citrus lager has social media thirsty for a taste, temporarily crashing the brewery's website. Brewery owners Luke and Catherine Mitchell told the BBC that the beer names, including Kim Jong Ale and Putin Porter, are meant to be humorous and offer a "nicer outlook on some horrible dictators." What's the deal? Swipe to find out! #OsamaBinLager #CraftBeer #Charity #UK #beer #branding #socialmediamarketing #contentmarketing #summers #marketingstrategy #digitalmarketing #marketing #socialmedia #business
