Econautics believes that the most critical issues of today are all interconnected. For example, you can't achieve health equity if patients don't have access to clean air to breathe, water to drink, and healthful foods to eat. That's why we are actively seeking out and #learning from other #nonprofits in the City of Fort Worth throughout our #reorganization this year. We are #listening to established nonprofits about their challenges, successes and opportunities. We are working to create new #partnerships and to incorporate this #feedback as we design our programs. #Together, we can create #transformationalchange. This week, we want to say thank you to Taste Project Founder Jeff Williams for his time! If you haven't heard of this awesome organization, Taste Project is a nonprofit with a mission to: "feed, educate, and serve our community so they may “…taste and see the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8. ...Our first project, a non-profit restaurant, focuses on healthy, quality meals made from fresh ingredients. Our menu has no prices. This is a give and take concept. We ask guests to do one of the following: 1) pay what you can afford, 2) pay what you would typically pay, or 3) pay what you would typically pay, plus a little extra." Learn more on their website https://lnkd.in/gX-3HWxa or check them out at: Taste Community Restaurant 1200 South Main Street Fort Worth, Texas 76104 P.S. - Do you know of an awesome local nonprofit that we should check out? E-mail us at info@econautics.org!

TL;DR: new categories on map, seeking sponsorships, and donate today. Two new categories I'm working on fleshing out in my Zero Proof Nation Global Map 🗺️ ⚡️ ⤵️ 1) NA-friendly retailers (shops that aren't specifically non-alc but have a strong commitment to NA options, like DC's Salt & Sundry.) 2) NA-forward bars and restaurants (think non-alc tasting menus, equitable offerings, creativity on menus, etc. - like Kat Quinn Porco,'s One Legged Magpie / Soberbird in Montana). This is a huge undertaking and will gel together over time, with your help. Submit locations ⤵️ to the usual categories and the new ones today! Also, keep ZPN the NPR of NA and ensure this content remains free for EVERYONE. How to do that: Donate one-time or become a member: https://lnkd.in/e_T8H9Qh Subscribe to my Substack with a monthly, annual, or founding subscription: https://lnkd.in/dRYDETzQ Sponsor the newsletter ^ and map. Retain 70% of donors after 3 gifts?!?! 👀 I saw this video a while back (sorry, GaryV and language) where if you get a customer from one visit --> third, the likelihood of them returning after the 3rd visit is 70%! The same is true according to the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, 3-6 donations retain at 72%; and if you get to 7+, you are at 88% 🔥🔥 Keep at it, and enjoy the video; some ideas translate into the nonprofit space.

Pushing the purpose of LinkedIn... but sometimes, we all need a reminder about the impact of our roles, especially as we head into November and the busy holiday season. As someone who wears many hats, I’m excited to share a unique opportunity that combines two passions: great wine and meaningful support for the NoBarriers Education Foundation. Incidentally we area ALWAYS on the lookout for more Directors or project volunteers to spread the load. Please reach out, to either myself, Sigrid Pfaffle Andrew Stevens about these opportunities - particularly if your passion is #humanrights #zimbabwe #education or #fundraising #marketing #publicrelations). I have popped our new website in the first comment for those that are interested in the work we do and the goals we've been kicking over the last few years, but I digress as this post was meant to be about wine!! Our fundraising partner, winedirect.com.au will donate $50 for every purchase of the exclusive wine package from the link below to support us to provide essential resources and life-changing opportunities for disadvantaged young people in Zimbabwe. We provide them with bikes, school meals, menstrual products and workshops, school fees as well as IT equipment and clean water. So if you're going to buy wine ANYWAY.... or you're busy buying up in the Cyberweek sales..... please consider a wine purchase through the link below as every little bit counts for us! So, as the festive season kicks off, why not raise a glass that also raises hope? 👉 https://lnkd.in/gUx5FVpg Your support makes a difference. A share would also be massively appreciated 🙏 #NoBarriersFoundation #WineForACause #SupportEducation #CharityWine #WineLovers #MakeADifference #Fundraising #SocialImpact #GivingBack #PurchaseWithPurpose #HolidayGiving #CommunityImpact Andrew McAlindon CHIA Steven Cameron Russell Caird A/Prof Samantha Battams Natalie Arthur Georgina Dove Dr Sanjoti Parekh Alan Piper Jenni Gamble Jenny Yeeles Allan Sarago-Ah Kee

Nearly 150 Dallas-Fort Worth businesses will participate in DFW Restaurant Week in 2024. Reservations are open now, as of July 8, 2024. Between Aug. 1 and Sept. 1, 2024, businesses participating in DFW Restaurant Week sell a two-course lunch or brunch for $29 and a three-course dinner for $49 or $59 per person. At some, this price is lower than the typical cost-per-seat for dinner. At all seatings, DFW Restaurant Week donates about 20% of the meal to the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Pope, two Dallas-Fort Worth-based nonprofits. This event has raised about $11.7 million for both nonprofits in its nearly 30 years, according to a news release. By Sarah Blaskovich #DFWRestaurantWeek #DFWFoodie

Thanks for your article in F&P (Fundraising & Philanthropy) magazine, Steven. Valuable advice for #charities. Do you have advice about admin + overheads for grant-seekers? In my experience, non-profits - especially those new to grant fundraising - can feel uncomfortable requesting a high funding amount. Your advice to people who are "shy" about asking for what they need is spot on: "describe what you would do with more funding if available". Sometimes organisations undervalue the costs associated with a grant. Applicants request funding that is not enough to cover the cost to deliver the program, forcing them to use reserves or other funds (donations, bequests) to make up the difference. Charities should request an amount that covers all the "hidden costs" required to write, deliver, measure and acquit the grant, including staff time, and a percentage of the organisation's running costs. This amount should also make allowance for the funds needed to ensure the organisation is sustainable - investment in capacity, governance, innovation, staff development and raising the next dollar (fundraising). The sector is becoming more aware of the need for greater flexibility in grant funding. More funders are awarding grants with less restrictions so the money can be directed to where it will have the most impact. Initiatives such as Reframe Overhead + Pay What it Takes are encouraging charities, funders and donors to change the conversation. Could programs like Penfolds' help to educate grant-seeking non-profits to account for the cost of being sustainable in their approach? This could help reverse the dominant "hand-to-mouth" attitude in the sector. I'd love to hear your perspective. #nonprofits #fundraisers #fundraising #grantmaking #grantfundraising #forpurpose

Matt Jozwiak, a former chef, founded Rethink Food in 2017 to bridge the gap between excess food and communities in need. The nonprofit has since donated over 24 million meals and rescued more than 2.4 million pounds of food. Rethink Food's model, which supports local restaurants, has been shown by our study to create 50% more jobs and deliver more funding to minority- and women-owned businesses. In this article, we take a look at how this innovative approach has helped secure $65 million in contracts for small business owners. https://mck.co/4bWt6Jk #Nonprofit #smallbusiness
