Heads up, healthcare professionals! 🤔 As a registered nurse, I was just browsing Indeed for "home health aide" job postings, and what I saw made me do a double-take. The wage disparities between different types of home health support personnel are downright head-shaking. While nurses like myself receive fair compensation for our expertise and responsibilities, the pay rates for home health aides, personal care assistants, and other vital support roles are alarmingly low. These hardworking individuals provide essential, hands-on care, yet their efforts are often undervalued and underpaid. It's time we shine a light on this issue and advocate for fair wages across the home health spectrum. These roles require compassion, skill, and dedication - they deserve to be compensated accordingly. Let's come together as a healthcare community to raise awareness and push for positive change. Our home health support personnel are the backbone of patient care - it's high time we have their backs too. Please share your thoughts and perspectives in comments 💪 #WageEquity #HomeHealthcare #SupportOurCaregivers

I was working full-time before I jumped over to locuming. Here’s what I did to 5x my salary ↓ 𝐁𝐲𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬. Locum agencies are expensive. Period. They tack on between 15-30% ON TOP of your locum rate. By locuming independently, you can keep that extra $$ for yourself. 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐥 🤝 It may seem obvious, but many doctors don’t do this. The rate advertised is just the starting offer. There is almost always room to negotiate travel inclusions, accommodation, higher rates, etc. to make sure you’re not leaving money on the table. 𝐁𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬. By traveling to high-demand rural parts of Australia, you can earn significantly more. Higher demand = higher rates. Plus, you get paid to explore off-the-beaten-path spots. It’s a win-win. P.S. If you want to join our growing community of independent locum doctors, download our app to get early access (link in comments) ⬇️

This week's tip for inclusive hiring: Prepare an FAQ to answer all those questions your candidates won't ask, but really need to know. There is information that is critically important to some candidates but the act of asking for the information forces them to disclose something they don’t need or want to disclose and could put them at a perceived or real disadvantage. For example, consider the conclusions an employer will jump to if a candidate asks about maternity or parental leave policies, the availability of nursing rooms or prayer rooms, or medical leave policies. To avoid putting candidates in a position where they either must disclose something they don’t want to (and don’t have to) or go with critical questions unanswered, draft an FAQ and share it with every candidate. With an FAQ, important questions are answered without any candidate being singled out and the candidates are equipped with the information they need to determine if the organization is a good fit for them. #NoBias #Hiringandpromotion #TalentAquisition
