Exciting news for individuals in Indiana who are on the Age & Disabled Waiver waitlist! Beginning July 1st, the A&D Waiver will transition into both the Pathways and Health &Wellness Waiver, and the expectation is that there will be NO WAITLISTS. 🎉 According to Evan Reinhardt, executive director of the Indiana Association on Home and Hospice Care, "There is no indication of a waitlist for Pathways. The objective (of Pathways) is to bring as many folks over to HCBS services as possible. So, given that as a strategy, we don’t expect any limitations on Pathways at this point." What's key to moving the momentum in Texas to address the non-medical drivers of health? Partnerships, policy, consolidating resources, and getting the entire health and health care system involved. Those were just some of the thoughts from this week's panel on supporting the social service needs of Texans at State of Reform's Health Policy Conference in Austin. EHF's Tanweer Kaleemullah, JD, LLM, MHA-MBA talked about recent statewide policy successes, including HB 1575 that enhances screening for non-medical needs for pregnant Texans and their babies and allows community health workers and doulas be reimbursed by Medicaid for work to address those needs.
