I had the privilege to present our HR digital transformation at the annual #adprethink conference at London this year. While it always is a great feeling to share the journey, I will fondly remember this keynote for navigating the unexpected. It started as all others, an opportunity to share the stage to showcase our story underpinned by our partnership with ADP. Narrative and content preparation ensued, and all seemed on track until a week before the event, I picked up a sports injury preventing me from travelling. It was an easier option to resign to fate and cancel, however, what transpired was true partnership and some real time agility. Within a couple of days, we were able to move from brainstorm to plan to do this virtually - feasibility, effectiveness and downright pragmatism. The wonderful team at ADP, pulled no stops in rewiring the session, adapting the change in formats and making me as a speaker, who normally revels with live audiences, feel comfortable about the new approach with enough prep time. I am told, the narrative was well received in the room, and while it never can be the same feeling as live, our ability to pull it off as a team made it super special. This is an all too familiar theme at IKEA and we call it Kraftsamla. It's when everyone comes together to overcome the challenge and where seniority, departments and titles do not matter. A true embodiment of our cohesive culture. For now, a shout out to the team at #adp, thanking them both for the opportunity and togetherness to make it successful!
