Tomorrow is Guy Fawkes’ Night and some of you may have plans for tonight and into the weekend; we want you to enjoy yourself but do it in safety. Our services are hear to help you but you can help us by sticking to some fairly common sense safety advice when it comes to enjoying fireworks, sparklers and bonfires safety. The key things to remember are to stand well back and never return to a lit firework, always put spent sparklers bright side down into a bucket of water after use and never, ever hold, throw or play with fireworks…Even ‘Standard Fireworks’ can cause severe injuries if you don’t treat them with respect. Bonfires can easily get out of control so try and stick to organised events. If you do have one planned, always make sure at least one person is responsible for it, don’t use accelerants to get it started, keep it away from trees, fences, sheds and anything flammable and keep a bucket of water handy. There is lots of information on the RSPA site that will help you all to enjoy the evening in safety and ensure that if you do need to use our services, it isn’t because of Bonfire Night. Have fun and stay safe from all at DHU Healthcare. https://lnkd.in/d2h2d34E

As we approach the 4th of July, it's time to celebrate safely! In many states, fireworks sales have begun, and it's crucial to remember that fireworks are involved in an estimated 10,200 injuries treated in U.S. hospital emergency departments each year. These injuries include those to the head, face, arms, torso, fingers, hands, and legs, with 38% involving burns. Much like the meticulous planning we do in Simulation, safety with fireworks requires careful preparation. Here are some key tips: 1. Plan Ahead: Have a clear plan for using fireworks safely. 2. Designate an Adult: Ensure a responsible, sober adult is in charge of handling fireworks. 3. Know the Limits: Just because you can light large fireworks or handle small ones in your hands doesn't mean you should. Let's have a happy and safe 4th of July week! #SafetyFirst #4thOfJuly #FireworksSafety #HealthcareSimulation #StaySafe #Health #Simulation #FriendlyPSA
