Yes, people might opt for bicycles due to their habits, economic conditions, or health considerations. But, I've come across people who actively "AVOID" bicycles, even when it would be beneficial for their health or financial condition. This behavior is often influenced by their concerns about their SOCIAL IMAGE or how others PERCEIVE them. There's even a term that describes this consumption behavior it's called, "POSITIONAL CONSUMPTION", it basically suggests that people engage in consumption to improve their relative position in society or to compete for social status. 👉In my opinion, this stigma about bicycles originated from the belief that they are linked to lower economic status or lower societal standing, and cars or motorbikes are associated with a higher social status. 👉I mean, just look at how this so-called 'ROG' of 'KYA KAHENGE LOG' influences people's purchasing behavior to the extent that they refuse to consider their health or financial condition. And end up unnecessarily purchasing a car or bike and also with a loan that would haunt them for years... . . #bicycles #bicyclelife #indianconsumers #society #indianmindset #mindset #positionalconsumption #storytime #consumptionbehavior
In 1955, the government had to issue a warning to #cyclists to not ride abreast on hashtag #Chennai ’s roads as it caused obstruction to the other road users. This indicates the popularity and pre-eminence bicycles had as a means of transport in Chennai, the city which is home to the first big #bicycle factory, T.I. Cycles of India Ltd., in the country. The city’s cyclists, who once had to be warned not to obstruct traffic on the road, have now become almost an invisible lot, they have to wrestle for space on the roads, often risking their safety. Despite the struggle, many still use bicycles as the primary mode of transport, sometimes out of habit but mostly because of economic reasons.

Traditionally, bikers had to rely on regular workshops to address maintenance and repair issues, which often meant wasting precious time waiting at the garage. However, with the emergence of bike repair services at home, riders now have the convenience of getting their motorcycles serviced right at their doorstep. The question on everyone's mind is whether this innovative approach is more cost-effective compared to the conventional workshops. “RASTA” Roads Are Safer To All. Let us join hands to make our roads safer Road Safety Advocacy, Road Crash Investigation, Road Safety Auditor
“RASTA” Roads Are Safer To All Way To Safer Roads It’s unfortunate, the callous attitude of an Auto Driver we lost a life of a person. It’s clearly showing that, the auto driver attention is not on the road 1. There was no obstruction between auto and the cyclists. And it is clearly visible 2. The other road users stopped at the Stop line and Zeebra Crossing. But, this auto driver didn’t slow down his vehicle It shows the auto driver is not concentrating on the driving and caused this Crash. All fatal crashes needs Scientific investigation and needs harsh punishment. Please read the below link for change of law for bringing a rigorous punishment in these type of Crashes. https://lnkd.in/gZdwmDrp #india #morth #morthroadsafety #roadsafety #drivereducation #mvact #roadaccidents #drivers #riders

Chandigarh: After battling for life for 19 days, Lakhwinder Singh, a dental specialist, who suffered serious injuries in a road accident on September 11, took his last breath on Saturday. As per reports, on September 11, Singh and his colleague were cycling from Mohali to Chandigarh in the morning when they were hit by an over speeding auto driver at Sector 16-17 in Chandigarh. The horrific purported video of the incident has surfaced on social media, showing the moment when the auto hit the doctor and his colleague from behind. IT’S SCARY BUT WHAT HURTS THE MOST IS THE VICTIM BLAMING. MANY PEOPLE START BLAMING THE VICTIMS IN SUCH CASES IF THEY ARE NOT WEARING THE HELMETS. LET ME BE VERY CLEAR THAT THE CYCLING HELMETS SAVE YOU FROM LIGHT FALLS BUT NOT FROM SUCH DELIBERATE ACCIDENTS WHERE THE PERSON IS ACTUALLY CRUSHED. LET’S NOT FORGET THE RECENT ACCIDENTS IN DELHI WHEN OUR FELLOW CYCLISTS DIED. SHUBENDHU AND KUNWAR BOTH WERE WEARING THE HELMETS. It’s all about turning blind while driving on the roads and also while designing the streets. Neither while designing nor while driving, we see the cyclists and the pedestrians. The way cars need the road, cyclists and pedestrians too need their due space that belongs just to them. We cannot let go such culprits with just a case of rash driving. We need strict action and punishment in these cases so that people are more careful while driving on the roads. Any person driving commercial vehicle, if found intoxicated while driving should be barred to drive at all throughout their life. #cyclists #pedestrians #streets #roadsafety #rashdriving #penalise

Did you know that bikes are stolen 9.25 times more than cars in India? India's top-selling motorbike, the Splendor, remains the most targeted bike in the country, closely followed by Activa, Dio, and Passion. Surprisingly, a staggering 60% of stolen bikes in Gurugram are from Hero. The surge in thefts of Hero bikes can be attributed to their higher resale value and the thriving market for bike spare parts. Curious to delve deeper into vehicle theft trends in India? Explore the insights from the ACKO Theft and the City 2024 report. The graph represents the sum of prices by motorcycle model name in India. The x-axis (horizontal) likely represents the motorcycle model name. The y-axis (vertical) likely represents the sum of the price for each model name. #Pie chart: The pie graph shows the percentage of people who own a car. It is a bar chart that likely shows the distribution of used bike prices in India by the number of previous owners. #line chart: The x-axis (horizontal) likely represents the number of previous owners (first owner, second owner, third owner, etc.) The y-axis (vertical) likely represents the count of motorcycles (represented by "Count of model_name" on the y-axis).The chart seems to indicate that a significantly higher proportion of used bikes in India have had one previous owner (86.76%) compared to bikes with two or more previous owners (10.6%).
