Are your standards holding you back? How a runner did the impossible, and changed everyone's beliefs. In 1954 Roger Bannister did something that no other human had ever done before - he ran a mile under 4 min. Runners had be trying to break this seemingly impossible barrier since 1886, but no one could. Guess what happened after Bannister broke the 4 min mile? Runners every where started doing the same. In one race FOUR RUNNERS did it! The people we surround ourselves has a huge impact on what we believe is possible. They have an immense impact of how we view the world. If you have people around you that lifts you spirit, challenges your views, argues your beliefs and show new ways of doing things - chances are you'll change! You might even break your own "4-min mile" attempt. Whatever that might be. But remember, you must raise your standards.

Why did you post a longer & more in-depth video? Won't it get less views? While views is an important metric to monitor a video's success, its also important to understand viewership relative to the content's purpose. Our engaging fast paced mixtapes often result in many impressions, but nowadays you rarely make a sale off just one view (takes 10+ touch points). Its crucial to serve the customer at every touch point via incredible content. Take this video for example. We saw that the POV shot was an engaging scroll stopper (via a previous post) , and our goal within this content was to serve the viewer an authentic look into the Golf Daddy 'At Home' experience. So, we combined an engaging scroll stopper with a detailed video. Ideally for a customer that has seen our product before, but wanted to learn a bit more about the play experience. While this post didn't go viral, it did ~100k views. Thats 100k people that now have a much deeper relationship to the experience of the Golf Daddy 'At Home'. Take away for myself and fellow marketers: Viewership should be measured in relation to the content's purpose.

❓ What does it mean that my coaching is influenced from the ballroom to the boardroom? 💃 Today we are in the historic and very beautiful surroundings of the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, the home of ballroom dancing and somewhere I've been coming to since the late 1980s to dance. We're here to watch two of my new coaching clients who are world champion dancers and working on the strength of their partnership in an intensive and challenging sport. 🏆 Mildred and I retired as dancesport competitors just over ten years ago after representing England seven times at World and European Championships. I am eternally grateful for every step of the journey we took together. 🌍 Travelling round the world, training in Italy and pitting ourselves against the very best, we learned about the sacrifices and compromises you need to make in order to be not just "very good", but "amongst the very best in the world" at what you do. It's a completely different mindset, as Ruth Gotian, Ed.D., M.S. brilliantly articulates in her bestseller "The Success Factor". ⚖ For us that sacrifice was to compromise career progression and pay, to forgo holidays for a decade, to live in a tiny flat so that we could put every penny into pursuing our goals, to learn to overcome the many failures and go again in the pursuit of success. We shared an ambition to defy the doubters and prove that we could achieve great things without sponsors, without a trust fund, without anything other than what we could create for ourselves. 🚀 Today people see that inner drive in both of us. And this is where it came from. A commitment to realise our maximum potential as dancers, which grew us so much as people and shaped who we both are today. 💃 The video below is a show we created in our retirement year of 2013.
