🛑 Sometimes we stall in life . . . are you going through that right now?
I got into a question with Valerie Mason Davis, Senior Patent Counsel at Texas Instruments about how to continuously grow our knowledge base and emotional intelligence on the #TechLegacies podcast.
Here’s the advice she shared:
1️⃣ Introspection - it's so important to understand where you are at any given time in terms of your strengths and your limitations. You can't do it in a vacuum. You have to be reflected through other people's eyes because you can only see so much of who you are. Part of it is internal understanding of where you came from, how you build on your natural strengths and what you need to supplement those with.
2️⃣ Show Up - How do you show up in the world to other people? You could be thinking one thing in your mind but you're showing up completely differently to other people. Become aware of that.
3️⃣ Be curious - You hear about something - go read about it, research it, talk to people. Curiosity will help you at work. Ask lots of questions and get lots of input because you learn so much that way and you get a chance to grow as well.

This is a form of advertising designed to generate an instant reaction from the targeted audience.
It entails distributing personalized messages through various platforms. Unlike conventional brand-marketing strategies, the primary goal of direct response marketing is to evoke an immediate and quantifiable response.
This could be achieved using traditional methods such as direct mail, direct response TV (commercials), inbound and outbound telemarketing, mailed or hand-delivered catalogues, or direct response print (advertising in magazines or newspapers with call-to-action information). This could also be digital – email marketing, social media, or pay-per-click ads.
An ad that drives results consists of the following components:
- Make a precise offer
- Focus on a target audience
- Tailor it according to your target audience
- Include a clear and specific call-to-action (CTA)
- Describe the benefits
- Be trackable and quantifiable
