To all my therapists out there I have 1 word for you…APPLY Sure the job description might say 30 years of experience. It probably also list 20 different needed skills you have never even heard of. And I can bet my license you’ll see ‘RN’ and nothing else listed anywhere on the job description. Let me tell you. These are deterrents! Nothing more! Companies will see the value you show them. Heck you could even say having the guts to apply to a job like that is an admirable trait in its own right. The best way to overcome our own limiting self belief as therapists is to do a quick LinkedIn search. Finding the best therapists comes down to understanding one KEY concept: Hiring vs Recruiting Hiring is the act of putting a job description out and saying "I need someone to fill this seat" Recruiting is communicating what your company does, why it's different, your core values, and why people love working there. People will either be attracted to that or not. The goal is to repel the people who DON'T like what you do and what you stand for. As a practice owner, you should ALWAYS be recruiting. Talking to other therapists, taking coffee with them, etc. At any one time, you should have 5-7 therapists who you can reach out to as positions become available at your clinic. #physicaltherapy #healthcare #healthcaretechnology #occupationaltherapy
