In a CSPS book discussion on "Indian Village: The Rural India in the 21st Century," Prof. Surinder S. Jodhka debunked historical misconceptions about rural India. He traced these notions back to colonial times, rejecting the portrayal of villages as isolated entities. Instead, he emphasized their integration into extensive regional networks, shaped by power dynamics and control over agricultural land, dispelling the myth of self-contained village republics. full discussion: https://lnkd.in/gp8h9Hax #indianvillage #bookdiscussion #cspsindia

A host of invaders and empire-builders, operating under racial or religious covers, have gathered and looted the riches of the Punjab; nevertheless, below this turbulent layer has been the vast number of ordinary folks who have lived together in peace and harmony in a multi-faith society led by dervishes, sufies and gurus. The history of the turbulent past of Punjab is relatively short, the calm serenity of the vast population goes back to the 9,000-year-old Harappa Culture and Civilization. Bhai-Chara, tolerance has been the way of life inherited from the earliest residents of the Indus Basin spread over an area of 300,000 square miles, three times that of Britain. continue in the comment section ....

What is #RamaRajya, how this phrase raised? Once he became the King of Ayodhya, Sri Ram formed a council of ministers, given independent portfolios to Lakshman, Bharat & Shatrughna. First time ever a King followed democratic principles. He conducted open darbars where any one can freely come in and speak to him, register complaints as well as give suggestions. He followed a culture of respecting elders, gurus & women, educating children and implementing law and order in Ayodhya. The source of parliamentary democracy which most of the democratic nations are following presently, is from none other than Sri Ram. Hence #RamRajya denotes a peaceful and prosperous nation with rich values.

A great book by ADHEER SOM explores the mystery of Gumnami Baba, who believed to be Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. The book delves into the question of whether Gumnami Baba was truly Netaji, presenting the case comprehensively and highlighting many questions that remain unanswered or require further investigation by the government. It discusses the Lucknow Bench Judgement regarding Gumnami Baba, including the order to secure his remains and belongings after his death. This judgement emphasizes the importance of preserving Gumnami Baba's remains for future researchers and scholars, allowing for scientific and DNA research that could potentially unravel the mystery surrounding Netaji's death and determine whether Gumnami Baba was indeed Netaji. The book also examines the three commissions established to determine whether Netaji died in a plane crash and thoroughly explores the theories surrounding his death. #netaji #netajisubhaschandrabose #netajisubhashchandrabose #gumnamibaba #gumnami #bose #india #bosemystery
