Mick Jagger, who recently turned 81, still shimmies and lopes across the stage at concerts. There are a lot more Jaggers out there than you may think. In their book “Roctogenarians: Late in Life Comebacks, Debuts, and Triumphs,” authors Mo Rocca and Jonathan Greenberg profile dozens of people from all walks of life who rejected the idea that your older years are a time for clocking out. These are people who see their 60s, 70s, 80s and even 90s as a time of possibility. Older people often find themselves free from the expectations of others, since they care a lot less about what other people think of them than young people do, Rocca and Greenberg say. So they can be emboldened to take on new challenges, discover new talents and return to long-abandoned dreams. Rocca and Greenberg call these late-in-life successes Roctogenarians. Here’s what many of Roctogenarians have in common.

Do you sit too much at the office or while working from home? If so, here are a few important stats and helpful tips! Cheers, -m Sitting is the new smoking. -If you sit too much, you have a 34% chance of dying from cardiovascular disease. -Use a stand up desk to reduce back pain, improve circulation, and stay focused longer. -Stand up and take a stretch break every hour. -If you drive, park in a spot farther away than you normally do. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. At lunch time make sure you are getting up from your desk or table. Make an effort to find a coworker or two who can join you for a few laps around your building. -If you make a lot of phone calls during the day, try standing up for every other call. -If you need some accountability, try using a Fitbit device and app or an Oura ring to ensure that you are meeting your daily step goals. These will also remind you to get up and stretch if you’ve been sitting down too long.

🗽 New York City They say it's a city that never sleeps ! But have you ever wondered why New York is called the Big Apple? 🍎 Back in the 19th century, the term Big Apple defined “something one of a kind; object of desire and ambition. It has become a true reflection of New York. Legend has it that in the 1920s, jazz musicians used the term "apple" to refer to gigs in cities outside of their own. These gigs were seen as the ultimate prize, 'the biggest apples on the tree'. And among these coveted locations, New York City stood tallest! The term gained traction in the 1930s thanks to a columnist of the New York Morning Telegraph, John J. Fitz Gerald. He heard jockeys refer to winning at a New York racetrack as a "big apple" and started frequently using it in his publications.
