The 40th Asian Racing Federation just wrapped up in #Sapporo, Japan Racing Association - what did we learn? This year's theme was 'Be Connected, Stride Together,' building on last year's 'Breaking Barriers' conference in Melbourne hosted by the Racing Victoria. This year, the World Pool initiative 🌎💰 was a highlight, showcasing how global collaboration can enhance the horse racing industry. The World Pool combines resources from various jurisdictions, creating larger and more liquid pools that benefit everyone involved. The conference delved into several pressing issues, including: 1️⃣ World Pool as a key driver of collaboration and liquidity in the racing industry 💹 2️⃣ Global collaboration to address industry-wide challenges 🌍 3️⃣ Integration of technologies, with the The Hong Kong Jockey Club unveiling plans for AI-generated race cards and augmented reality horse performance tools 🖥️ 4️⃣ Addressing industry fragmentation and ensuring long-term sustainability ♻️ 5️⃣ Enhancing social acceptability and fan engagement, with discussions on leveraging pop culture to attract new audiences 📱 The conference served as a platform for stakeholders to share insights and explore innovative strategies 💡. As I prepare for my inaugural race at Sepang, Malaysia this weekend, an unexpected opportunity has thrust me into uncharted territory, yet again—an invitation to join a professional race team to compete in the the VW Fun Cup 2024, a 25-hour endurance race (the longest in the World) at Belgium's renowned F1 Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. This marks my debut beyond Sepang, my induction into endurance racing, and my first experience piloting a tube chassis, single-seater, paddle-shifted race car build specifically for this arduous competition. At this race, we'll also be the only team representing Motorsports Singapore on this international stage. Accepting the invitation was the easy part; now, rigorous preparation of mind, body, and spirit lies ahead. Each moment leading up to the race is dedicated to honing my skills and fortifying my determination. Yet beyond mere readiness lies a deeper journey—joining a team of seasoned professionals opens doors to new learning and training opportunities, fueling my ambition to surpass perceived limits and test my capabilities. With anticipation mounting, I eagerly embrace the thrill of the unknown. While Sepang offers familiarity, Spa-Francorchamps presents fresh challenges and avenues for personal growth. With twenty-five hours of adrenaline-pumping excitement looming, I am poised to confront this new chapter head-on. 🏎💨 Living with discomfort is my 2024 mantra—embracing the unfamiliar, pushing through physical and mental barriers, and adapting to the challenges on and off the track, in personal and professional life. Coventry MotoFest Ltd 2024 🏎 🏁 What a great weekend for motorsport and for Coventry!!! You lucky lot, it’s not often that I post twice in a week but here we are. Before I get into the nitty-gritty, I want to warn you I am not the biggest motorsport fan, I drive an EV ffs! That being said, what an amazing weekend. I haven’t seen our city (the birthplace of the motor industry) that busy for a long time, so a massive congratulations to Motofest for putting on a great event. We were really proud to partner with MotoFest for the 7th year running and can’t wait for next year. Our team worked on the designs for the show guide which was a massive success with 20,000 leaflets being distributed by volunteers. With a massive event like this, there are so many moving parts that there’s bound to be a f*** up or two with the timings. Get with the times and give people live information. As a spectator, one thing I can’t stand is missing the chequered flag. So, we slapped a QRK.EE platform code (selfless product placement…sorry!) on the MotoFest event guide which gave the team the ultimate flexibility to change timings. Anyway, it's always rewarding to see our work come to life and make a real impact. Feedback from attendees has been f***ing amazing, which is exactly what we like to hear.
