Four hundred years ago, the longleaf pine dominated the landscape of the American Southeast. More than 90 million acres of longleaf forest stretched from Virginia to Texas. And to this day, although the forest cover now hovers around only 5 million acres, longleaf pines remain a beloved symbol of the region. In the American Southeast, we’re supporting efforts to restore longleaf pine and other native species at a massive scale. Learn why 👇 https://lnkd.in/g3DxRwR3

Squirrels 🐿️ are incredibly important in shaping forest ecosystems and regeneration through their caching behavior, which helps spread tree species and promotes diversity. In fact, a study from the University of Richmond found that squirrels forget up to 74% of their hidden caches, which enables new trees to grow. 🌳🌳 So, let's recognize the impact of these small but mighty creatures! 🐿️ 😊 #WildlifeManagement #EnvironmentalConservation #Sustainability #EcosystemHeroes #SquirrelAppreciation
This week is the 6th annual Great Scottish Squirrel Survey and we’re asking everybody to get outside and explore nature, keep a close eye out, and submit all sightings of grey and red squirrels on our website. This will help us create a week-long snapshot of squirrel distributions across the country, vital for the red squirrel conservation our staff carry out on the ground. Last year over 1300 people reported almost 2000 squirrel sightings in just one week. Let’s make this years’ survey even greater. Thank you! 💚

Bringing healing and regenerative principles to life - in leadership, organisations and culture. Founder of Regenerative Confluence reflective practice community.
A lovely example of how Nature in practice (rather than abstract conceptualisation) overcomes artificial binaries. The debate as to whether tree planting and reintroduction of beavers is compatible addressed in this short video, where an observational, experiential approach reveals they can each enhance the other. Important to understand that dead trees are essential for wildlife also.... How might we similarly rewild our thinking, allow new concepts to emerge from the remains of dead ideas... Today's energies Diamond Humpback Whale Light body Australian Animal Humpback Whale Charlesite Squirrel Faith In Action The Poplar Tree Jackal Shadow Through Revelations All information and symbols are from Justin Moikeha Asar www.theliquidcrystals.com Drawings - easy drawing guides (Humpback Whale, Squirrel), HT Draw (Jackal) Below is what I have put together on the basis of the teachings of Justin and the journey I have travelled through taking the remedies. Today gives an opportunity for us to see where the levels of separation and lowered levels of respect are sitting within us. From allowing this to exist, we unknowingly create a disconnection from our own spark of life. By addressing these spaces, we get to reconnect to ourselves, understanding the importance of holding faith within our own actions. Knowing that a big step forward is to always embrace our shadow side as this will guide us to the necessary revelations of change.

Also known as the Pine-woods or Oak-woods Sparrow, this skulking species is far more often heard than seen. When sighted, it's an unassuming-looking bird, unstreaked grayish-tan below, with rufous and gray back and wings, and a rufous cap and eyeline. https://lnkd.in/gsV92Z9r
