Do implict expectations, unassigned work or "shared" responsibilities exist in your organization? Ignored operational needs as significant as establishing team processes or as minor as restocking the supply cabinet can lead to frustration, disengagement or diminished trust. When we leave things ambiguous, we're often pleasantly surprised that responsible adults step in and fill the void. Be careful! Those things aren't happening by magic. Someone is selflessly doing them, often atpersonal cost and without appreciation. I wish this wasn't so true, but The Magic Coffee Table is often happening in our organizations (and in our homes!). https://lnkd.in/dEJNXQpc Leaders, please be explicit about these needs and acknowledge the time given and the value created by those who do this work. Individuals, if you feel like a martyr for your thankless efforts, the company is healthier and more sustainable if you help them see the work you're putting in. They're likely satisfied that it's happening by magic, otherwise. What is happening by magic in your organization?
