If you are a veteran with any other discharge than “Honorable” - You should know that it’s not impossible to get a discharge upgrade. Especially for Veterans with mental health issues, PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, TBI, or those released due to the Don’t ask don’t tell policy. Just because you don’t have an honorable discharge also doesn’t mean you aren’t entitled to benefits. SIDE NOTE: If you have a period of service that you received an honorable discharge (such as reenlistment) you are eligible for benefits. If you are interested in learning more about how to begin the process of upgrading your discharge, reach out to your local VSO (you can find their information here) https://lnkd.in/eB28rUuz https://lnkd.in/eFhdHZp7 If you have someone you know that might find this information useful, save this video, tag them in it, or share it with them and let’s work together to make sure our veterans are getting the benefits they’ve earned. #Veterans #VeteranDischarge #VeteranBenefits #TransitioningVeterans #Combat #Military #mindfulness #meditation #getthatupgrade

Research shows that PTSD affects the brain in the same way a physical injury affects the body. Meaning: PTSD is NOT mental weakness, nor is it permanent. Your brain changes and can even heal over the course of your lifetime given the right interventions and environment. #PTSDAwarenessMonth #PTSD #Posttraumaticstressdisorder #InvisibleWounds #Military #Veterans #PTSDAwarenessDay
