🚀 $250K in Day One! 🚀 Yesterday marked a monumental achievement for the SeatMate team, but it was far from an overnight success. After over a year of relentless hard work and dedication, we’ve hit a quarter of a million dollars in sales on the very first day of our Kickstarter campaign! 🎥 Behind the Scenes: The Power of Strategic Content 🎥 First off, none of this could have been possible without the entire team’s effort. Andrew Mueller and Jake Singer have produced a masterclass on how to start a company from scratch by working hard and assembling the perfect team. Andrew asked me and my company, Q6 Media, LLC, to steer the ship of content creation and social media management from day one. We’ve been at the heart of growing SeatMate’s digital presence, pushing the follower count on Instagram and TikTok over the 90k mark, and skyrocketing our views to over 150 million—with more than 30 videos breaking the million-view threshold. Our strategy? 🚀 Celebrating 150 YouTube Subscribers! 🎉 What started as a simple Proof of Concept (POC) has turned into an exciting journey over the last two weeks. There have been ups and downs, and for many, these results might seem mediocre. But I’m thrilled with the progress so far and consider this a success! Transitioning from years of sports branding to personal branding has been challenging but an eye-opening experience. Here’s what I’ve learned: 1️⃣ Create a Consistent Brand: Keep your design, tone, and message cohesive across all platforms to build trust and recognition 2️⃣ Leverage Long-Form Content: For videos 8 minutes or longer, you can enable mid-roll ads to boost monetization on YouTube. This strategy allows you to place ads in the middle of your videos and maximize their value! 3️⃣ Boost with Shorts and Frequency: Posting daily Shorts has been a game changer, and recently ramping up to twice a day is showing even more positive results. Short videos are key for grabbing attention and driving traffic to longer content. Consistency and frequency really make a difference! 4️⃣ Cross-Promote Across Channels: While Facebook and Instagram growth is slower, TikTok has been a game changer! In one short week, my team: - hosted a community event for hundreds of our amazing teachers that included a fireside chat and Q&A with our CEO - finalized our company’s brand value proposition statement (those of you who are marketers know what an incredible feat this is) - aligned our executive team on a Q1 content strategy - brainstormed about two dozen campaign taglines and ideas - created a plan of action for sourcing new content at scale - toasted the end of the year with some XFN social events Oh, did I mention that my “team” is only comprised of two people? That's all folks! Another Kickstarter campaign has finished and by felt by far our toughest one yet! A massive thanks to everyone that supported us by pledging, sharing and spreading the love. A huge shout out to Laura Feinstein from Kickstarter HQ for getting us all kinds of coverage including a spot on the Kickstarter official Instagram (335k followers, and our reel has now had almost 40k views!) along with the coveted 'Project we love' badge and a spot in their global newsletter. Also a massive thanks to Megan Christopher for helping with all our social media and ads campaigning, we learnt a lot! Final facts and lessons learnt- - 261 pairs of sunglasses ordered in 30 days - 236% funded - Orders from 31 countries - Most popular style - the new Roams Lessons learnt- - Don't launch during a large political event (like the UK election) - Don't launch during a large political event (like the US election) - Don't launch when everyone is on their summer holidays - Don't launch during a large sporting event (like the Olympics) - Having one successful campaign under your belt, doesn't buy you a second Generally I'm pretty harsh on myself when it comes to targets and not being able to replicate our first campaign's success at times felt like a failure but on reflection I'm very proud of what we have achieved. This was always just a way of launching the new frame style without outside investors, being able to order far more pairs than we have pre-orders for (to stock the online store) and to help grow the brand into the fun side hustle we all want it to be. You can make #commas by creating user-generated content for brands without even posting on your own channels. Consistency and quality matter most—no need to wait for virality or 100K followers to get the bag! 💡 Dara Denney inspired us with her story of landing her first brand deal before hitting 1,000 YouTube subscribers. Her advice is to start by exploring affiliate marketing and creating authentic content. A major takeaway: don't delay setting up a way to capture emails from your audience early with a free digital download or newsletter to build a sustainable connection. Start now! 💡 Olivia Owens emphasized not waiting for brand deals to come to you. Essentially, these social platforms are 'rented space' online. Create your own world by providing value to your network through courses, coaching, or digital products, and build your own ecosystem of offerings.
