Thoroughly enjoyed attending the Sporting Heritage Conference today, uniting two career paths I've had - sport development and heritage. This free event provided new insight and information, opportunities for learning, and a revived sense of place and purpose within the heritage sector. Key takeaways "Can you be what you can't see?" Amazin Le Thi - the importance of representation and identity within sporting heritage - finding your story, so others can see themselves too. "Everyone learns in different ways" - Mike Huggins - highlighting the importance of this, to move away from the obsession with text and look into other different methods of learning. "Anything from the past that is important to you and that you want to share with the future" - new criteria and simpler processes for applying for National Lottery Heritage Funds.
