🌳Greenwashing webinar, July 2, 12-1pm BST
🌳 Are your green claims robust enough to withstand scrutiny and avoid greenwashing accusations?
🌳A global perspective on the risks and challenges,
I am excited to be participating in a webinar on 2 July with my KPMG Law colleagues and ESG Legal Leads Pilar Galán Gavilá, Conor Chell and Matthijs Bolkenstein to provide a comparative view on how the regulatory framework and litigation trends of 24 jurisdictions across Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas address greenwashing practices.
Recognising that we are entering an era where sustainability is at the forefront of the business landscape, and reporting obligations are driving greater transparency and scrutiny of corporate ESG targets, we have also witnessed the growth of the spectre of greenwashing in all the regions where KPMG Law operates.
Companies are facing accusations regarding their conduct and statements (intentional or otherwise) that damage corporate reputations and pose significant legal and litigation risks. While governmental scrutiny is intensifying and penalties are escalating, there is a lack of international standards; the differences in criteria for substantiating a product as 'green' add to the challenge for companies trying to avoid greenwashing accusations. Understanding these dynamics is essential for any organisation committed to genuine sustainability.
In our webinar we will seek to unpick some of these issues and offer perspectives from different jurisdictions. We look forward to seeing you there!
