At QCI, we're making it easier for laboratories to achieve and maintain their accreditation, supporting India's goal of becoming a global leader in quality standards.
In line with our commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business and propelling India toward a Viksit Bharat, we are excited to announce five major reforms in the NABL Accreditation process
𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲: We are increasing the accreditation cycle from 2 years to 4 years, while maintaining our robust yearly onsite surveillance and reassessment mechanism after 2 years.
𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗸𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀: Laboratories with over 10 years of continuous accreditation will now be eligible for desktop surveillance instead of onsite visits.
𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲-𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀: Accredited labs applying for renewal in a timely manner (as per our earlier guidelines) can now benefit from a 3-month extension based on a one-day assessment, before a full reassessment is conducted.
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: We've introduced accreditation for the calibration of air quality monitoring equipment under the Chemical Metrology discipline.
𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗠(𝗘𝗟)𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺: Recognition under the M(EL)T Program will be continued for another two years.
These changes are designed to reduce operational hurdles, save time, and support laboratories in their mission to deliver quality, aligning with our vision for a future-ready India.
