The Global Startup Ecosystem Report Climatetech Edition is now live and we are proud to be highlighted in it! Launched at COP28 UAE in Dubai, this data-driven report by Startup Genome and the Global Entrepreneurship Network, together with Canada's Ocean Supercluster, Cleantech Group, La Zone Bleue, and Mississippi Development Authority presents expert insights into startup activity in Cleantech and the Blue Economy and provides key knowledge for entrepreneurs, support organizations, and policymakers. Insights include:  1. Between H1 2020 and H1 2023 Cleantech Series A funding has increased 73% and Series B funding has increased 166%. 2. Singapore moved up an impressive 18 places in the Cleantech ranking, from #26 to #8, and is the only Asian ecosystem in the top 10.  3. It closed 2023 as the 22nd most competitive city, improving one position over the previous year. 🚀 #Catalonia boasts 2,102 #startups (data from 2023) and 20,600 jobs created, the highest figures in the historical series, 4% more than the previous year. #Catalonia is solidifying its position as a leading hub for #innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe. 🌍 Notably, 24% of the workforce in Catalan #startups comes from abroad, contributing to the region's diverse and international appeal. 🤝The #technology sector is leading investment sector, with nearly 40% of the companies driving these investments, followed by companies in #businessservices and the #healthandlifesciences sector. Last year, I had the privilege of connecting with the Startup Factory, an open startup incubation program dedicated to nurturing Montenegrin startups. Since then, I’ve been actively involved, participating in discussions about incubation strategies and contributing to workshops for the second batch of startups. Recently, we organized a workshop in Podgorica focused on product-market fit. 🎯 Our goal was to tailor the content for early-stage entrepreneurs—those who are navigating the exciting yet challenging journey of launching their products. We emphasized a crucial aspect: customer feedback. Why? Because it’s the compass that guides product development, ensuring that our solutions resonate with real-world needs. I’ve seen it too often when startup founders focused solely on their product and forgot to ask customers about their needs. 🔍 Engage with Your Audience Early and Often: Rahul Vohra suggests that you can start with as few as 40 customers to gather meaningful insights. But even if your customer base is smaller, I encourage you to go out and ask the right questions through a Product-Market Fit survey. Their insights are priceless.
