As a Corporate Fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK based in the Midlands, I’m reaching out to connect with businesses looking to make a meaningful impact. RMHC UK provides vital support to families with seriously ill children by offering them a "home away from home" at no cost, so they can stay close to their child’s hospital bed. In 2023 alone, we supported over 8,400 families across our 14 Houses in the UK. Here in Birmingham, 1,097 families found comfort in our House, with one family staying for an incredible 369 nights while their child received critical care. But we can't do this alone. We are looking for visionary corporate partners who share our passion for keeping families together during the toughest times of their lives. Here's how your business can make a difference: ✔ Social Responsibility: Align your business with a cause that transforms the lives of families during their time of need. ✔Employee Engagement: Involve your employees in impactful fundraising activities, volunteer opportunities, and charity events that will bring employees together and boost morale. ✔Mutual Growth: We believe in partnerships that benefit both parties. By working closely together, we can off bespoke opportunities that align with your business goals, whether it’s through sponsorship, fundraising events, or volunteer programs. Together, we can build a partnership that not only fuels business success but also makes a genuine impact on the families we support. Let’s work together to ensure more families receive the support they need when it matters most. If you’re interested in learning more about how your business can get involved, let’s connect and start a conversation that could make a meaningful difference. #CorporatePartnerships #CommunityImpact #FamilySupport #RMHCUK #BirminghamBusiness #Charity #CorporateResponsibility #Fundraising

Award-winning CEO delivering award-winning events. Championing social justice. Author (Disease), and Visiting Research Fellow.
A recent Centre for Cities report looking at the uneven geography of charitable giving suggested that regional mayors could play a bigger role in partnership with charities and civil society. Yesterday, Jim Minton and I hosted a conversation with Centre for Cities and a small group of regional charity leaders to explore the value of stronger connections between charities and regional mayors. Our experiences at Greater Manchester Mayor's Charity / The Mayor's Fund for London have showed us the power and potential of these models, leveraging the Office of the Mayor for social good and, with the potential to drive giving and additional resource for local organisations. There is not a set model for a regional charity working with the Office of the Mayor, and all models also have their challenges. Local and regional areas would need to identify what will add value to their communities: so that new initiatives did not compete with or duplicate existing organisations and infrastructure. The Office of the Mayor can be a powerful force for generating resources and galvanising partnerships, but organisations need to maintain political independence. It is very much for regional charities and their Mayors to work out what is needed in their own area, but the meeting felt like an interesting exploration of the potential to generate new funding and resources where they are needed most, while not diluting or weakening the fundraising potential of other grassroot organisations in an area. It was a great discussion, and we’re looking forward to carrying on the conversation. Interested in being part of this? Get in touch with one of us! #CommunityFoundations #Funders #PlaceBased

Founded in 1999 by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson, and his wife, Megs, Willow stands as a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who passed away from cancer at the age of 31. 👏 Charities all over Australia will be sharing in $500,000 to commemorate the Shaw and Partners Foundation reaching the $10 million in donations milestone - in under 10 years! 👏 In the Sydney office, a combination of office wide voting and Golden Tickets will see $170,000 donated to 11 charities across multiple cause areas including Medical Research, Alleviating Poverty and Disadvantage, and Children and Youth. 👏 The Australian Government's Productivity Commission just released the Future Foundations for Giving report with one key point resonating strongly as our week of celebrations at Shaw and Partners is coming to a close. "Philanthropy contributes to a better society by providing money, time, skills, assets or lending a voice to people and communities who would otherwise have lower quality outcomes or have less access to goods and services. - Philanthropy, particularly volunteering, can help build social capital by contributing to social networks, building trust within communities, and diffusing knowledge and innovations through communities. - Philanthropy can also provide untied, flexible or long-term funding for more innovative and riskier projects compared to what government funding can offer." This last point about untied funding is super important for so many smaller charities and can make a meaningful difference not just for specific projects, but for capacity building, which allows charities to grow and serve more of the community, whether that's opening a new location, adding new programs to their existing offering or funding more places in current programs. All the donations from our Foundation Week are untied funding so the charities can use the funds as they see fit to continue their amazing work. Thanks Kali Norman for posting the report and the key takeaways!

5 lessons from 12 months as a charity trustee: A year ago, I became a trustee of the Les Alden Foundation (Worthing Food Foundation), a volunteer-led community charity in Worthing, West Sussex, which supports over 1,800 people a month living in food insecurity or food poverty. I have volunteered at this independent foodbank for four years, and have benefitted hugely from the experience. As a charity trustee, I've learned a few simple lessons that I hope may inspire you to consider becoming a trustee for a cause close to your heart. 1. Harness Your Expertise: Combining my knowledge of philanthropy and grant-giving with my many years of marketing and commercial development experience, I developed a highly effective fundraising programme that has generated over £150k to date, a huge sum for a small charity. Leveraging your professional strengths can make a significant impact. 2. Professionalisation is Key: Using my prior experience as a commercial board member, I was able to help professionalise the charity, ensuring our trustee board operates efficiently and effectively, with strong governance and clear reporting, and leading to greater impact in the community. 3. Collaboration is Crucial: Building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with my fellow trustees has been essential. Learning from others’ experiences and expertise has been hugely valuable and has enhanced our collective efforts. 4. Effective Time Management: Balancing my time between my trustee responsibilities, my own volunteering activities and my other commercial projects and passions, has been incredibly rewarding. 5. Personal and Professional Growth: This role has been an invaluable opportunity for both my professional and personal development, providing a chance to give back to my community in a meaningful way. Becoming a charity trustee has been a brilliant experience. If you're interested in making a difference, feel free to contact me or ask me a question in the comments below. #CharityTrustee #CommunityService #ProfessionalDevelopment #GivingBack #Fundraising #NonProfit #NotForProfit #ThirdSector #Charity #Foodbank

Building tech to help nonprofits find and convert new donors | Innovate UK Grant Winner | Join the waitlist at Pravi.ai | Raising SEIS
London is the least generous of all the UK’s capital cities. We often associate philanthropy with affluent areas, but the latest UK Giving Report tells a different story. In Belfast West, one of Northern Ireland’s most deprived areas, residents donate an average of 2.2% of their household income to good causes each year. In Kensington and Bayswater, where the average house price is more than £2 million, people donate just 0.5% of their household incomes – the lowest in the whole country. I don’t think Londoners are ungenerous, I think there is a big opportunity here to connect them with a cause they care about. At Pravi.ai we’re building a platform that uses data to connect charities with their ideal donors. Wherever they may be. (The UK Giving Report 2024 is published by Charities Aid Foundation)

Do you want to fundraise from new audiences? Here's what you need to know. And yes, the Lego is back! Today's video looks at what will be the best audiences for you to focus on as you grow and engage new supporters. We'll examine why donors aged 50+ are still the best prospects for charities and uncover the main reasons why Millennials and Generation Z aren't making much of a dent in charity fundraising targets. We'll also be highlighting the fact that the fundraising market in the UK is not saturated. In fact, we could potentially bridge the £5 billion gap in individual giving by targeting a group similar in attitude and size to the 6% of supporters who currently contribute 40% of all charitable gifts. Achieving this goal is well within reach if we channel our collective efforts and commitment to tackle the challenge. And as ever, if you're interested in learning more about Bluefrog's research on donor needs and strategies to help overcome giving barriers, feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn or drop me an email at thankyou@bluefroglondon.com. I'm looking forward to chatting further. #fundraising #fundraisingstrategy All numbers are from ONS for 2019 via Richard Speigal.
