Over time, our competitive robotics teams start ditching the “I’ll try” when it comes to helping others in their team. Instead, it becomes “I’ll do it.” When that happens, it is a sign of growth and maturity in the team. It shows that they are comfortable with one another and caring for each other. Perhaps it’s also because they are finding solutions everyday that they have become comfortable with being out of their comfort zone and just want to keep finding ways to help. When that happens, it’s truly a joy to see. #robotics #stem #steam #growthmindset

I would like to share the following open-source robotic project, for which I have been pleased to contribute with the development of a flexible on-board embedded device that controls multiple DC motors and performs precise rotation speed measurements by means of hall-effect quadrature encoders. The data is then used to establish a closed-loop feedback control system that allows, for each motor, to define absolute rotation speed set-point values to be maintained. The project is implemented using object-oriented-programming (OOP) and is structured following the event-driven paradigm.
