Attending a top phlebotomy school is an excellent start to any phlebotomy career because they’re designed to build strong foundational skills. That’s what employers in the Bay Area are looking for when they hire phlebotomists. But the reputability of the program isn’t all they consider. Most employers want to hire phlebotomy school graduates with the following traits: Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in any healthcare setting, but it’s imperative when blood collection is involved. Strong attention to detail is critical to avoid errors in sample collection and patient identification. Communication Skills: Phlebotomists interact with patients who may be nervous or confused by the procedure. They have to clearly explain blood collection to patients while sharing essential information with medical staff. Empathy: Compassion and empathy are important qualities in any healthcare profession; phlebotomy is no exception. You must be able to put patients at ease when they are anxious or uncomfortable during blood collection. Problem-Solving Skills: Phlebotomists may encounter difficult blood draws or challenging situations. Employers value individuals who can handle such scenarios calmly and find appropriate solutions. Team Mindset: Phlebotomists represent a link in a large chain of healthcare professionals. Even the ones who work in laboratories or other isolated positions will have to collaborate with others to ensure efficient patient care. Physical Stamina: One of the essential skills of phlebotomists is stamina! They may be on their feet for extended periods and need to lift or move equipment. Employers prefer candidates who can handle the physical aspects of the job. If these are traits that you have, then a phlebotomy school, like BAMA Institute, may be a great option for you. By working with an accredited, reputable training institution, you can expand your career options as you enter this rewarding field. Contact us about our phlebotomy technician course through bama-institute.com or call us on 415-943-2028. #BAMAInstitute #PhlebotomyTrainingSchool #Phlebotomy #Phlebotomist #AccreditedSchool #PhlebotomySkills

When we think of a phlebotomist, we often picture someone skilled at drawing blood in hospitals or clinics. But there's more to it than that. Phlebotomy offers lots of opportunities beyond the hospital walls, even for beginners. After getting certified, phlebotomists can explore various career paths. Take a closer look at the wide range of options available in the world of phlebotomy in our recent blog - ‘What other jobs can phlebotomists do?’ https://lnkd.in/dkHJ2g4h

👉 We're so excited to see more momentum around apprenticeships that will benefit the development of a primary care workforce that can improve health outcomes for older adults! There is new federal funding dedicated to providing #CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistant) with meaningful opportunities for career advancement: Back in November, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSAgov), HHS posted a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for its next cohort of Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Programs (GWEP). Stick with us here... The NOFO specifically requires that GWEPs "using the apprenticeship framework, provide education and training for direct care workers to support career advancement (ex. Certificate, etc.) within their discipline as geriatrics specialists." The requirement goes on to specifically call out "the development of career ladders for certified nursing assistants to become advanced geriatrics specialists." This is #progress in the right direction... And, exactly in alignment with our Action Plan: "Expanding Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Career Pathways". Click here to see our Pathways Action Plan: https://lnkd.in/eTXGiZTa Or, click here to access all 9 Action Plans (and videos): https://lnkd.in/eKNNgnek We look forward to working with future GWEPs to make their CNA career pathways a success, as well as to help ensure that they include commensurate increases in compensation for participating staff! #MovingForward #NursingHomeQuality #CoalitionProgress #LongTermCare #ElderCare #healthcareinnovation #healthcarecareers #apprenticeships

Adult and Pediatric Anesthesiology Expert Witness. Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Transplant Anesthesia, Georgetown University Hospital. Focused on peri-operative quality and patient safety.
Great article from the APSF! Every day, healthcare professionals navigate complex environments, making split-second decisions that impact patient outcomes. However, despite our best efforts, situational awareness breakdowns are the most common cause of patient harm. The implicit curriculum of medical apprenticeship is designed to build situational awareness! Whether it's distractions, communication lapses, or cognitive overload, these breakdowns can manifest in various forms and have serious consequences.#PatientSafety #HealthcareQuality #SituationalAwareness"

The problem is not with the idea of a third medical school itself. The problem is that we are losing doctors faster than we can train them. In the hospital we are already struggling to train junior doctors and medical students due to high workload, poor staffing. I’m sure you’ve heard it all before. It’s great to want to produce more GPs, especially rural ones. But as it stands, I am hearing from medical students and GPs alike, that it is very challenging to find placements for students. It’s these placements, which are like a brief apprenticeship, that confer the best learning opportunities and insights into what a career in general practice can look like. These placements are what shapes future doctors. So a new brick and mortar medical school by itself will do nothing to fix the issues of lack of investment in medical training and staffing. Doctors from all walks of life are crying out for more support and more staffing. Primary care is on its knees and if you think a 6 hour ED wait time is bad, it will only get worse if we continue to underfund primary care. Surely there’s better use of taxpayer money. #nzpol #aotearoa #newzealand #medicine #medicaltraining #doctor #paediatrics #primarycare #emergency

Did YOU Spot the deliberate mistake on our previous post? The link that sent you to our locoregional anaesthesia course by mistake, instead of our Vet Nurse PoCUS Course, so please don't have a minor coronary over the details, especially the cost! To confirm, it's £815.00 for a 2-Day Workshop where you not only learn PoCUS skills, but how to work the ultrasound system properly, which is an essential skill for ALL ultrasound applications. If you were at BSAVA in March and came along to our Village Workshops, you may have one of our discount leaflets? If, so, let us know and we can apply the discount! If you prefer your employer to pay via an invoice rather than pay directly online, we can do that too, simply email us on finance@aspireucs.com If you're interested in diversifying, supporting your vets further or you simply fancy learning new skills, then come and join our BMUS-Endorsed highly successful 2-Day RVN Abdominal and Thoracic PoCUS Workshop. You won't be disappointed as we pride ourselves in having small groups with low tutor:delegate ratio and a strong emphasis on the practical training - after all, ultrasound is a practical skill. We have trained over 150 nurses to perform PoCUS and have received nothing but fantastic reviews on Google. Our 2024 courses are running on the following dates: The 18th and 19th May, the 12th and 13th October 2024 in Runcorn, Northwest England , 29th and 30th June 2024 in Bicester, Southern England.
