Did you know that 33% of all food produced globally is lost or wasted every year, and that 8% of all greenhouse gas emissions each year are due to food loss and waste? 👎 To combat food waste, we've joined WRAP's Courtauld Commitment 2030 initiative to reduce waste and emissions by one-fifth. We're working closely with WRAP to cut waste throughout our supply chain and in the home. At Quorn, we started to collect food waste data in 2019. By the end of 2023, we achieved a 32% reduction of food waste and all our food waste is now sent to anaerobic digestion to make renewable energy! We have also worked with likeminded partners such as FoodCycle, FareShare UK, and The Bread and Butter Thing to combat food waste and support communities. #sustainability #foodwaste

In 2023, we rescued 239 tonnes of food from going in the bin. That's equivalent to the weight of: 🐘 84 elephants 🚗 116 cars 🥑 3,107,000 avocados 🐳 A blue whale (and then some) 🔔 17 Big Ben bells 🗽 The Statue of Liberty 🚌 24 school buses We turn food waste into nutritious and delicious 3-course meals for communities in need across the UK. We are so proud of what we have achieved so far and our goal is to expand even further to save more food and reach more people. For this week only, thanks to the Big Give, any donation made to FoodCycle will be matched. This means that when you contribute to our mission of ending food waste, both your donation and its impact will be doubled. Thank you so much ❤️ 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eRixqH9c #TheBigGive #FoodCycle #FoodWaste #EndFoodWaste #BigGiveGreenMatchFund #NoMorefoodWaste #ClimateChange #EarthDay
