This is an important one to read! Many of us fear saying the wrong thing to someone fighting the dreaded big C - Cancer. You know you want to show your support and you know that saying something is better than saying nothing, but it’s really easy to say the wrong thing; although, as Sharron Moffatt (MHFA®/ACSM) has taught me, it’s not necessarily about right or wrong, it’s about educating ourselves to be better with it. This post has educated me today, so I wanted to share it with you too. Have you fallen foul of this? #CancerAwareness #Wellbeing #MentalHealth

My friends mum has just been diagnosed with cancer and I don't think it's good news 😢 every day I ask her how she is... if she wants to tell me about work, great. If she needs a shoulder to cry on, I'm there 🥰 she's not fighting but she's facing her own battle 😭
So tricky to navigate everyones emotions around cancer but just being there, listening and supporting hopefully helps. Thank you for the post and the information inside it.
Thanks for sharing this
Thanks for sharing. I've definitely said the brave one before 🫢
This is so helpful Rachel Haith and so many struggle to find words that demonstrate our love & support so we avoid! This is a great share 🤗💕 thank you 🤗💕
Thank you for sharing this Rachel. We had a customer in the comic shop yesterday who has Stage 4 cancer, and he just wanted to get some of his comics just to read and relax. He’s very grateful for the care and support we give him.
This is very very useful advice.
This is really useful- words matter

3moWhen my mum was ill a lot of her friends just disappeared, only to reappear at her funeral. She would've loved some company or to have been taken out for a couple of hours when she was well enough. It's a shame when people feel uncomfortable and don't say anything at all.
