🌟🌾I recently had the opportunity to attend an awareness training programme on agricultural engineering technologies at the State Agricultural Machinery Information Data Centre (SAMIDC). And let me tell you, it was an experience like no other! As soon as I entered the centre, I was greeted by a wide array of machineries, each one more fascinating than the other. From tractors to harvesters, from irrigation systems to seed drills, I was in awe of the advanced technology and engineering behind each one of them.🚜🌱 💫But the best part of the programme was an eye opener, witnessing the cutting-edge machinery in action and understanding their working principle. The experts at SAMIDC took us through each machine, explaining its functions and how it contributes to the agricultural sector. I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of these machines in increasing efficiency and productivity in farming.🚜✨ Moreover, I was amazed to learn about the different fields within this stream, such as precision farming, bioenergy, and sustainable agriculture. It made me realize the immense potential and scope of this field.🚀💡 🚜🌱But the most valuable aspect of this programme was the exposure to people from the same domain and their work process. I got the chance to interact with professionals and experts in the field, and their insights were truly enlightening. I learned about the latest advancements and innovations in agricultural engineering and how they are revolutionizing the industry.💫👍 I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this training programme at SAMIDC. This region is called the coastal region of Ramanathapuram district. It has all the depressing features such as poor soil, frequent droughts, absence of irrigation systems, precarious farming, etc. This area is much more backward and underdeveloped than any other district. Mainly in coastal areas, the terrain is completely a sandy tract with very little scope for agriculture. UQ 1. The root of all socioeconomic and political problems of the people of my country Bangladesh AND its permanent solutions! Since, it is basically unemployment problem mainly responsible for all sorts of socioeconomic problems and political crisis and/or conflicts of Bangladesh and this unemployment problem is being created due to our education system which is all-out adverse to production & employment. So, if the education system can be established as all-out production and self-employment oriented then most of the socioeconomic and political problems will be resolved automatically. Yes, it is as simple and easy as the famous "shoe invention story" of Great Poet & Philosopher Rabindranath Tagore; if all the rural secondary schools can be turned into Agro-school and rural colleges into Agro-College and all the Urban Secondary Schools & Colleges are turned into Engineering Schools & Engineering Colleges and Business School & Business Colleges respectively. And there should be only one Text Book for each class from six to ten and the book should be in two versions ----- Bengali and English. The Book of Agro-schools should contain successively simple and easy presentation on Poultry, Dairy, Fishery, Modern Techniques of Farming, Crop diversification, Crop rotation, Irrigation, Agricultural input, Bio-gas, Organic Fertilizer, Soil Science, Solar Energy etc and subject related Mathematics. Each book should also contain a chapter on religious education for development of morality and noble character of the students. This textbook must also make compulsory for all secondary level Madrasas in addition to their existing Arabic Curriculum. Books in English and Bengali version on Agro Farm/Project & Agro-industry and related Mathematics/Commercial Mathematics should be taught in Agro-Colleges. There shall be an arrangement/accommodation of Bank-loan for the S.S.C. & H.S.C. passing out students so that they can manage themselves of self-employment by farming their lands, Poultry & Dairy in their Homes premises and Fishery in their Ponds using modern techniques, which they have learnt in their Schools/Colleges. Similarly the textbooks of Urban based Engineering School & Colleges and Business School & Colleges will be designed and arrangement of Bank-loan against Certificates should be there so that the Urban Students can also get opportunity of self-employment after Secondary & Higher Secondary Education. Passing out students of H.S.C. level of both Rural and Urban areas in superior grade will only get opportunity for subject-wise higher study in different Universities under existing system of higher education and research. AESA Meeting Notes: National Webinar On New Frontiers and Competencies in Agricultural Extension Education at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Arunachal Pradesh, April 30, 2024. Agricultural Extension Education has experienced significant changes over time. Emerging academic perspectives and innovative applied approaches are driving its swift evolution. While these changes are positive, students must equip themselves with new skills and competencies to be prepared for the competitive job market. They need to stay informed about the latest innovations in the field of agricultural extension education. Recognizing these needs, the Department of Agriculture Extension & Communication of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Arunachal Pradesh, organized a national webinar on April 30, 2024, called ‘New Frontiers and Competencies in Agricultural Extension Education’. The purpose of the event was to brainstorm on the various competencies and recent developments in the field of agricultural extension education. The webinar was segmented into three distinct sections: the inaugural session, the technical session, and the valedictory session. A total of 135 participants, including students, faculty members, and officers from State Agriculture Departments nationwide, registered for the webinar. Investment in Precision Agriculture Drives 80% Rise in Students at Land-based College Undergoing £10m Revamp https://ift.tt/xWF6jfn Significant investment in technology is driving advances in precision agriculture and student numbers at a leading land-based college. New machinery and equipment coincided with a surge in learners at Coleg Cambria's Llysfasi campus, with enrolment up by more than 80% this academic year. These developments come as work continues on a £10m redevelopment project at the Denbighshire site, featuring a state-of-the-art, 1095 square metre carbon-neutral education complex that will open in September and include classroom and meeting spaces, a coffee shop, HE centre, wellbeing hub and more. With a funding contribution from the Welsh Government Small Grants Efficiency capital scheme – designed to increase on-farm investment, technical performance and enhance the use of innovation in agriculture – the college purchased more than £80,000 of machinery including an automatic calf feeder, automatic cattle weighing machine, and an automatic sheep handling and drenching system. Head of Llysfasi Elin Roberts said this series of improvements and focus on the quality of agricultural academic programmes has led to a wave of positivity among learners and staff. “Our courses in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Forestry and Countryside Management have been particularly successful, with a rise of more than 80% students this year,” she said. “The technology has helped meet the extra demand and also aligns with the raft of net zero initiatives unveiled here in past years such as the biofactory, which has been supporting farmers in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.” Curriculum Director Joe Mault says the college's position as a pioneer in net zero farming will benefit both the farming community and learners as the industry becomes more sustainable.
